i've never had any issues at either larnaca or paphos airport. been to both a number of times.
i find orlando international worse than either of these, as it takes hours to get through even when you have your gear.

Been visiting Larnaca for the past 9 years and I've never really had a problem, okay its small but I think its well organised! and yes it can be very busy on Wednesdays and Sundays but I think the longest I have actually waited is 40 mins, which I didn't think was too bad.

I've never had a problem with the airport. Yes, it's not huge and it does get busy, but that could be said for countless holiday resort airports. I had more of a problem at Ibiza airport!

It will NEVER stop me going back to Cyprus, the island is worth it!

All holiday airports suffer from delays ect but my point is that the airport is far too small for the number of passengers using it and is a safety hazard at it's busiest.I have had long delays at Ibiza airport but always found plenty of seats and space to move and never felt in danger of being crushed as at Larnaca.

One thing I have noticed from this forum is that the majority of regular Cyprus visitors will never accept any critisms of their beloved island for some reason

I think they are building a new terminal

All I can say is that I personally have never had any problems with Larnaca airport and to tell you the truth it would never ever spoil my holiday,as soon as you get off the plane and the heat hits you I feel at home.......whilst waiting for my luggage I just think of the ice cold keo that will be waiting for me at the nearest bar when I arrive in resort.
I think the worst part of any holiday is the coach transfer it takes forever, thats why I woul always pay extra and get a cab.

theres a little refreshments trolley in the baggage reclaim that sells cans of keo , so why wait

Martin love the picture display. Jesus OT was like a morgue the other night. Sitting there wishing I was back in Cyprus! Watched the Sunderland game in Cyprus and was glad I watched it there and not at OT!

Just got back. Airport was more efficient this time - bags almost immediately available on arrival, but why oh why do they have the place so hot on departure. Minor point, but when yo're flying at midnight and tired an irritable, its not nice to be stuck in a building where its uncomfortably hot. Please stick the air con on guys!

Have to say not my fave airport. Long wait for luggage at arrivals, cattle shed comes to mind. The depature area was much better.......but waiting at the departure gate was horrid. Plane was delayed because some big wig was landing. Then waited in plane for an hour to get flight slot. Me thinks if you fly in and out on Cypriot plane you do much better, everything come faster, ie luggage, buses and departure.
Sunday and Wednesday makes you never want to go again!!!! After a few days back in UK you soon change your mind.

My understanding is that the Cypriot airlines pay a higher fee to have the baggage loaded/unloaded more quickly.

Thats why all the other loading stops when a Cypriot plane lands. :D they take priority

Got to agree with a previous posting it is always very hot in the departure area, it is as if they want you to drink keo by the bucket load.

I was out there last month and the heat in departures was awful (mainly at the gate) I don't think there was any air conditioning on at all. It's never been a problem in July, so all I can think is that the Cypriots feel the cold more than we do! They are used to high temps, so anything less feels much cooler to them than us :D
