It's a bit pricey for October Kath.
I don't normally pay any more than £300 for that time of year.
I just want to treat my Grand-son, as he's had a tough year this year.
I might look at somewhere like Marmaris. Not exactly my cup of tea,
but it may be a bit quiet for a 10 year old in Kef.

The problem is the school holdays will bump the prices up a little bit....plus you'll have to pay adult price for the grandson as you can only get child prices with 2 adults sharing a room. £150 pp in school hols might be a bit difficult.............
Just had a quick look at Turkey and prices are £700 plus in marmaris for the 2 of you!! Much more expensive!!
The rooms in Lassi are the Thekla studios. Says they are quite close to the Lorenzo hotel and have the use of their pool.

They weren't on the main strip Kath, but could well be central( a few side roads). The school holidays are a nightmare. We stayed at the Lorenzo, where rooms were 30 Euros a night, until the schol hols, where they automatically doubled. It's not peculiar to Kefalonia - it's the same everywhere - & I for one think it's unfair. It was so quiet in Lassi over the last 2 weeks that a group of hoteliers had actually got together to try and encourage the tour operators to cut their prices, so that visitors would be attracted again. The Euro has put many off, but in fact, prices weren't as bad as we expected. In fact they were cheaper than Olu Deniz in Turkey, which my sister opted for.

The blurb on the website describes them as
The Thekla Studios are situated in a quiet road just of the main road and 500 metres from the centre of Lassi with many tavernas, restaurants, bars and shops. The nearest sandy/shingle beach is just 50 metres away, however the main beach of Lassi is 200 metres away, making this the ideal base for a relaxing holiday Guests have the use of swimming pool at Lorenzo.(next door to Aqua Marina Restaurant) approximately 400 metres away
I don't agree with the price hikes in holidays either.....just like I don't agree with paying nearly double for a holiday for a single person.....but hey!...a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do! and fortunately some tour operators are kinder than others to us!
I've had a look at various flights as well including Kefalonia ( Dalaman, Bodrum, Crete, Zante Cyprus etc and they are extortionate over that week...and without your accommodation!

Yes Shirley it was!!! (ice lolly)
However, that does not include flight meal, (not bothered)
or transfers, but as I know Portugal like the back of my hand, and we have early afternoon flights,
we will get the shuttle bus to Albufeira from the airport, or jump on the train at Faro train station. Sorted.

Pandy - I'm paying more than that for 3 days in London. Can I ask where you're flying from?
