I've a weeks leave to use up from work and was looking for somewhere reasonably priced to get away for the week in July instead of decorating at home.
Unfortunately my wife is not so lucky work wise so I will be travelling alone.
A friend recommended me Bulgaria and specifically Golden sands. Would this resort be suitable for a middle aged bloke travelling alone ?
I enjoy a few drinks and having a laugh so are there bars, clubs, discos etc where I wouldn't look like some sad old git sat in the corner!
I've also read reports regarding "certain types of ladies" around Golden Sands, each to their own but this is really not my bag !! Will this be a problem for me i.e. are there certain Hotels, bars or places I should avoid so as not to run into problems.
Any advise appreciated
Cham
hy chamcham we always go to golden sands and there is loads of places to go the muppet club down stairs from the perunika is for all ages and pipi the guy who runs the bar is very friendly .The ladies of the night are every where .They are outside the Perunika but there are ways to avoid them .Bonkers is just across the road from the perunika that is another club, there are loads of guys go on there on .The bars in the hotels we have been in are very friendly and so are the Bulgarian people ,so you wont feel out of place go and enjoy June
I'm afraid that all "single" men are a target for the ladies of the night but just keep saying no and they will go away.

My suggestion is that you don't sit somewhere in the dark but in the middle with full of people around you.
For ladies: take a seat at the bar, tell the barman you're alone so if anything happens he'll notice..
Another tip: open your mouth and start talking!
If you don't talk you won't get a conversation and then yes having a bad and lonely holiday..an ideal target for the white-shoes-girls!
Have a great holiday Chamcham
I've decided to bite the bullet and book something.
I think I will stick with GS as I do like a bit of life.

I don't have a problem starting conversations so that shouldn't be an issue, As for the white shoe girls, I'm used to that, after all I'm from Essex
White shoe ladies..............thats a good one Tanny
thanks John D
I'm in two minds whether to pack my white stilettos now after some of the comments
Thanks again
