I have just been reading the Malta Times online and it looks as if the possibility of low-cost airlines flying to Malta International Airport could be a reality.
The relaxation of the Maltese rules regarding low-cost airlines may result in airlines I.E. Easyjet, Ryanair etc introducing reasonably priced flights to Malta.
The only reason that the rules regarding low-cost airlines are still in place is to protect the national carrier, Air Malta.

Good News, hope the same low fares will also be available from Malta for the benefit of us residents too.
I would presume that the low fares would be available both ways.
I bet this flight would prove to be extemely popular especially with us Maltaphiles, and what an excellent break it would be to spend the odd weekend or more in Malta.
We have in the past managed a flight out there on a Thursday and returned on the Sunday evening but that means having Friday free.
I suppose I can dream on!!!!

Yes it would be great if only eh!
