I imagine that the guy who goes round filling the mini bars will probably be asleep when you arrive. The only staff around are likely to be the porter, who probably won't speak much English, and the reception staff who are unlikely to have the time to leave their work.
The prices are the same as any mini bar - expensive, but then you have the convenience of not having to leave your room.

we just took some of the items out of our mini bar and left them on the top, and moved some to 1 side so we could get drinks etc in, had no problems doing this

Ok thanks, but do you know if the mini bar works off sensor? Sometimes when you move the items inside the sensor is triggered and they charge you thinking you have used it! Believe me we have had this happen before (in this country though!) I know you had no probs ellie-meg but do you know if they have changed it recently ;)

i doubt it , ive never heard of that happening in turkey and even if it did as long as you put all items back in the fridge the day you leave then they cant charge you, dont worry about it, you could always ask them the following day to remove all contents anyway

Hi Twinkletoes,

I was there twice last year and the mini bar is just stocked - I moved things to get my drink in and had no issues. you can buy drink and sweets at the duty free as your waiting for your luggage to come up on the belt, Vodka was about £8 a bottle - not sure what others where as i dont drink anything else !! :cheers
I am going on the 7th July out of Gatwick - anyone else going on this date ? I have also booked for next year and its only gone up by £20 for 2 adults !! not bad but then I have paid £98 (£48 each ) for flying at 7am - so it wouold have been cheaper than this year !!

Book now before tc sells out !! as it is now getting popular with everyone knowing what LW has to offer and its being advertised alot on TC channel 645 on sky :offtop :whoops

Hi Gregg - We go on 17th July out of Gatwick. Good idea to get some vodka at the airport ;)

We didnt get the minibar completely emptied but just moved things out to fit bottled water etc in and had no problems.

The best price I could get this year was with travelrepublic and holiday-experts. After your advice Gregg I spent about an hour on the phone with TC to try to get them to price match but they couldnt do anything for me and their lowest price was still about £800 more than the others. I'm going to check prices for next year now though ... Which website did you book your next trip with?

Anice,
i checked on line with tc and then phoned them with the number they show on sky 645, they matched the online price straight away but i then asked if they could do better and they dropped it by £20 per person (£40) better than nothing !! - i say - if you dont ask you dont get !!! :rofl

also try manos - my mate says they are part of tc but are again cheaper :offtop :whoops

I was checking prices for next year for us ... BUT ... in the meantime some friends have expressed an interest in coming to Lykia around the same time this year (any 2 weeks from 18 July) but at the mo I cant get it under the £4K mark (2 adults, 2 kids, 9 and 11 years). Any ideas anyone?

Thanks - anice.

Hi again Twinkletoes - sorry for not replying earlier. We are flying on the 16th May from Bristol with Airtours. We have been very brave and booked flights and accommodation seperately - the first time we've not gone as a package holiday, so I hope it will all be ok!

One thing - last time we went to Turkey (over 10 years ago!) we were very sick (rubbish hotel - but we had a great time anyway!). Is it ok to eat the salads and things - and what about squashes for the kids / ice etc - anyone been ill there / avoided these things?

we ate everything in lykia and there was 30 of us and not 1 of us was ill, and ive not heard of anyone being ill so you should be fine, you have picked an excellent hotel with wonderful quality food and massives of choice

Hi all,
Looking for help, not really about Lykia but for a hotel of similar with a lovely sandy beach ANYWHERE in greece or up north in Turkey. Have been scanning other forums and have posted too. Hope dont mind, but if you know what lykia is like and can recommend somewhere else would appreciate help. Have been to Lykia twice now and its fab but would like to try somewhere else. Trouble is have been spoiled! thanks a lot

Well I paid the balance of my holiday off earlier this week. So Lykia here I come. :tup :tup

Checked the same company for 2009 and prices seem a lot more expensive for Lykia than I have paid for this year.

Are there pay phones available to use at Lykia? I'm not planning on using my mobile as the cost will be too high (though we will prob use our mobiles for texting so the kids can find us if they are off at the kids clubs that sort of thing) but I'd like to know how easy it is to call home via a pay phone from Lykia? OH! and are there phone cards we can buy there and would the cost be added to our hotel bill? Thanks

There are pay phones in reception and phones in your room. The cost of both of these can be added to your bill.
