Hi Fenderman, we got back from Bahia Azul on Thursday. We must have been there at the same time as you! We had a good time too, but didn't use the Floriana at all. It seemed to be very German language orientated. Did you use the facilities? Went to Pirates on Wednesday night, what a great show!

hi wee pauly we jsut got back from santa ponsa had a mega time stayed there for 2 weeks at jutlandia apartments a few places to eat are for shore scotts corner next to dicey reileys jackies,and kellys on the corner and tonies for breakfast

We didn't use the Floriana at all.Seemed to be mostly Germans.In the reception,they only had German newspapers.There was an English family on the transfer coach who said they'd enjoyed it.
We like Cala Bona very much but We thought the Bahia was a bit too far away from the beach.I don't mind walking but after a few Bacardis it was hard going

It was nice meeting you if only briefly. Glad you enjoyed your stay. I think we were really lucky with the weather - I usually go earlier or later and was expecting the heat to be overwhelming but it was perfect.

hi my name is glynis i live in bridlington east yorkshire flying to palma nova in 18 days time staying at honolulu hotel for two weeks looking forward to our first holiday in mallorca just my husband and myself we fly from manchester on saturday the 13th of october at 15. 50 have packed most things but keep wondering if i really need all this stuff how many tops for day how many for nights skirts trousers shorts will it be hot or cool 
Looking for a bar to watch the Scotland game on October the 13th, its the same day as England play so i expect all the bars to be showing it.

Anybody got any suggestions about which resort we should try next year.
We've been to Palma Nova twice,Cala D'or twice,Cala Bona Twice and Santa Ponsa once.We've visited Soller,seems a bit quiet.Sa Coma we went this year for the day.Wasn't too keen on it.There's only the two of us,sold the kids into slavery .We 're not looking for 18/30 but like some entertainment in the evening though not kareoke.
We liked all the resorts we tried up to now .Santa Ponsa was least liked.
Also thinking about main land Spain as we've never been there.
Any ideas would be most welcome.

Fenderman, I liked Porto Pollensa. The weather was awfull (well it was end of October) when we were there but we liked the resort. We did say we would return but as yet haven't made it and that was about 10 years ago. CBG
we love Puerto Pollensa...it doesn't have nightclubs, but it does have loads of bars, and a lively outdoor restaurant/bar scene, in the market square and surrounding streets.
Coupled with the lovely beach which is partly shaded at north (Pine walk) end, and friendly people, it is great!

Hi I am undecided about where to go . prob book to go to palma and decide on resort later. how far is callas de mallorca from airport , is it very quiet? Only ever been to Palma Nova and magaluf, oh and Alcudia years ago, but that is a bit too far from airport.
callas de mallorca is quite a hike I wouldn't like to pay a taxi fare to there.
We visited Callas de Mallorca last month when we were staying in Cala Millor and found it to be a pretty resort but it is quite small and I would imagine fairly quiet.

Well we bit the bullet last night and we're having 2 weeks at the Hotel Moreyo in Cala Bona (where Tippi stays) with Jet2 flights from Newcastle enf of May into June - 2 bedrooms on B&B basis and the whole holiday has come in at just over a grand!
Bargain!!!!!
Still have transfers to pay for and travel insurance - just hope weather is okay for us - I was really undecided when to go but opeted for May thinking we would be coming back to warm-ish (hopefully) weather and I'll have a head start on my suntan - unless of course we have another washout year weatherwise.
So in true Tis fashion I feel it only fair to warn you all that it's.........

HI Tippi I stayed at the Moreyo last year it was excellent, remember to email the hotel direct and ask for a pool view rooms otherwise the pago beach entertainment and street noise might spoil your stay. If you want any more info just ask.CBG

CBG - thanks for that advice - we did put it on request with Travel Republic but will email hotel direct (do you have an email addy for them)? Nice to know you've stayed there too - I must admit it's nice when you 'know' others that have been and enjoyed it. Do you have any piccies of inside hotel/pool area?
Lou - we are all okay, hope you are too! Lucky you going to the Bonamar - it's a lovely hotel, shame no kids are allowed now tho' as it was a Thomson Family Hotel till a couple of years ago.
We'll all have to book our hols at the same time so we can have a Holiday Truths get-together
