How did you book the Angel falls trip - before you went or with the rep once you arrived?
Any advice would be most welcome as this is our first trip to this island.

We booked with FC when we arrived, as I mentioned book it as soon as you can as the places do fill up quickly due to the limited capacity of the planes..
We booked with FC that way we at least we had contact with a rep / FC if anything went wrong.
Nothing happened and indeed they seem well organised trips no matter who you use.

FC was very slightly dearer $30-40 more than booking it with a different company directly.

What you will have to remember is that you will have to pay a tax at Canaima, I think it was 8000 Bolivars payable in Bolivars.

Thanks again Graham - you should be in the travel industry.

I have now had a reply from the hotel (but not alas from FC as yet) it seems that they still have an internet room but I dont hold out much hope of not having to queue to use it.
The various web sites appear to have mixed messages and experiences from people that have stayed there. I am sure that the weather will be dry and hot in August but we don't mind that as long as the hotel staff and food/drink is of a reasonable standard. (Don't want much do we!!)

Went to Lagunar Mar at the end of July for two weeks...

Weather is extremelly hot !!!!!!! one of the hottest places i have been to. Margarita is nice, hotel was good as well except there where issues with the food being cold - they seemed to have a bad 4 weeks as the reviews of the hotel where not like this before we went and went better when we returned....
