Hi! just wondering how long beforehand do you guys know the exact aircraft (e.g. G-OJEG etc.)which will operate a particular route e.g. a week/month etc.
Many thanks,
Nick
If you just want to know that type of aircraft (e.g. A321/A300/B757 etc.) than that is more predictable.
Hi,Darren MON 7964 Gatwick to Dalaman tomorrow, any confirmation of aircraft yet ?
nick.r61, the MON9764 is down to be on the A321-200
well rang thomas cook to book premium seats but they only had 5 available for that date and theres six of us
Hi, im thinking of prebooking my seats via the monarch website. Im traveling to tenerife from luton and the aircraft is an A321 and was just wondering in which rows are the drop-down TV's located? as i dont want to have to stretch my neck like last year!

madasharley, I thought just 2 of you wanted to upgrade(?). Have you enquired if there are sufficient seats available for extra legroom?
just wondering in which rows are the drop-down TV's located
nickappel, that is quite a difficult one to answer, especially since I'm not at all sure that all the A321's have the TV screens in the same positions on each aircraft. Some aircraft even have the TV screens over the centre aisle. I will see if I can find out for you but I cannot guarantee it will be the same on the aircraft you end up flying on.
not realy fair to pinch the seats and leave them at the back lol
not too concerned realy about the legroom more concerned about the weight allowance can this be upgraded by much?
Flying premium to Goa in December. Am I able to specify seat numbers, or if I get to the airport early and find I don't like the seats I'm allocated, are the check in people able to do a bit of seat shuffling?
New to this forum but travelling to sanford on 7th august from manchester. Been getting mixed reports about monarch some saying awful service and others saying they are ok. travelling with 2 oap's and 2 children - questioning whether or not to pre book seats. do you think we will be ok at check in to get seats as we hope to get there early - we have been told to ask for row 30 or 3 x 2seats at back of aircraft - what would you suggest to do.
Would anybody know what aircraft we are due to be on this day?
Thanks in advance
sue
Your Flight Would Be Operated By An Airbus A330-243, Configured 3-3-3 In Economy. Many People Often Moan About The Flights Because Of The Celing Mounted IFE, Not Seatback Like Some Other Airlines.
Seating Is Very Much A Personal Preference, If You Check In Early Enough You Will Most Probably Get Seats Together, However If You Want Added Piece Of Mind Then It Is Best To Pre Book.

Suesarg,
Welcome to the forum. Although you are able to pre-book your seats at a charge (i.e. guarantee that your seats are together), as far as I am aware you will be unable to request specific seats beforehand (apart from pleaing with the check-in staff). The seats at row 30 are unsuitable for children as these are emergency exit seats and children would not be allowed to sit there for take off and landing, whilst the rows of 2 at the back of the aircraft, where the aircraft narrows and the seating configuration changes from 3-3-3 to 2-3-2, are in fact extra legroom seats and are charged at £35 per person per flight.
If you have not already paid for any seating arrangements at this busy time of year you may find it difficult to get specific seating you want but it is worth a go if you really want it. I would say that provided you arrive at the airport in good time then there should not be a problem getting seats together. Travel agents will often recommend 3 hours before departure for check-in to the U.S. so if you want to be ahead of the game then I would say be earlier than that. Be aware that there may be people who have already pre-booked seats before arrival at the airport.
Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have if you are unsure. Otherwise, have a great time on holiday
Thankyou for your information GowerL7 and Partyboy - it's very much appreciated.
I've looked on the links for "what kind of aircraft" and I know that of the Monarch Flights shown, I've been on at least 2 if not 3 of the types of aircraft mentioned as used on the route. Is it possible to find exactly which aircraft is supposed to be used for a flight ?
hi , due to fly out to Malaga from manchester on 13th of aug 2009 on flight no ZB654 . i have read some bad review's on leg room. have flown on bmi 737 last two years and was just about comfortable, but due to poor flight times have gone with Monarch. anybody know what plane i might be on, and how much leg room. Also how do you measure it. cheers

Your flight will be operated by an A321-200. I am not sure if you wanted the exact registration of the aircraft. If this is what you want then it is something that is not recorded as the aircraft could be changed at any point due to operational requirements, but if you want to know which aircraft have operated this route over the past 4 weeks on the Sunday LCA then they are as follows:
12/07/09 G-OZBT
05/07/09 G-OZBT
28/06/09 G-OZBU
21/06/09 G-OZBT
So, it looks like there is a good chance you might be on one of Monarch's new A321's (G-OZBT & G-OZBU) given this record. No promises though Have a good flight.

to the forum. Your flight is due to be operated by an A321-200. The standard seats pitch on this plane is 28" which is the same as most narrow-body short-haul flights with other airlines. However, there is the option to book extra legroom seating on this plane which offers an extra 6" of legroom at 34". Most of this seating is at the front of the aircraft. If you booked direct online then you can book this on the Monarch Website, and even select your seat on the plane. If you booked via a travel agent then you should speak to them.
Seat Pitch is the distance between the rows of seats and is measured from the back of one seat to the back of the seat behind, the measurements being taken from the same position on each seat
wow, many thank's for the welcome and the fast reply partyboy. will contact monarch. just one last question, is it possible to take your own sandwiches from home ( have 3 kids who are very fussy eater's)or in the airport shop and then onto the plane. cheers skip.
Monarch's Onboard Menu here along with prices. However, you are no longer able to board flights with hot drinks for health and safety reasons, and there is nowhere to place them during take off, but you can purchase these onboard. You can purchase tea, coffee or hot chocolate.
There is no problem taking your own food on the flight. In case you would like to know Monarch's own food then you can view
