roguemazza,
Welcome onboard
LGW-CFU-LGW (MON5952/3) are operated by an Airbus A321-200. As it's a charter flight, you should have IFE.
Darren
thanks

There is a link to Monarch's onboard menu for Aug-Oct 09 here. It is usually quite nice (even if I do say myself )

I guess this may have been spoken about on here before, but I can not find any reference to it.
I am flying with Monarch Schedule shortly and will only be travelling with hand baggage. When I come to check in online can I select my seats without being charged for them?
I have recently checked in online with Aer Lingus and at the time of check in / printing off my boarding card I was able to select what seat I would like to sit in? Does Monarch Schedule operate a similar process? Or will the system just randomly place me in a seat?
Many thanks,
Adam
Hi Dazbo5
When you check-in online, you have the option to select which seats you want from an aircraft map. There is a charge for this which is £7.50. You are also able to select extra legroom seats which are also chargeable. Extra legroom prices can be found here. If you pay for allocated seats but not extra legroom and then want to purchase extra legroom seats onboard, should they be available, you are able to pay just the difference between the £7.50 and the cost of the extra legroom seat by showing your confirmation paperwork which should include the cost you paid for the allocated seat.
If you would just like to see what seats are available on your flight then you can either log into the Monarch website using your booking reference number to view the seat map or alternatively you can simply do a "dummy" booking of the flight you are travelling on. Seat selection appears before payment and so once you have viewed the seat map you can simply leave the booking process.
If you do not pre-select your seats online then you will simply be selected a seat randomly at check-in (either in the online process or at the desk in the airport)
If you need more information about seating then you should be able to get this on the Monarch Website.
So it is looking like I will have to pay for the privilege as I will want to ensure I have a window seat.
Just another quick question, as me and my partner are on the same reservation, if we let Monarch pick our seats, will those seats be together or is there a chance we could be at either ends of our Airbus?
Many Thanks once again,
Adam
I must admit that whether you pay for an allocated seat or not there is still a good chance that you will get a window seat (assuming you are travelling on a narrow body aircraft anyway), especially if there are two of you travelling together. Of course, the only way to guarantee this would be to pay for the allocated seating. If you do decide to check-in online and you are not given window seats, if there are spare seats available on your flight, then cabin crew are usually happy to accommodate you with any specific seat requests where possible. Of course, if you are travelling over the next few weeks and your flight is busy then this may not be possible. You may have a better chance of window seats without the charge if you check-in in person early at the airport.
With regards to whether you are allocated seats separate from each other if you check-in online, I honestly do not know the answer but would imagine it to be unusual if seats together were available on your flight. If you do decide to book allocated seats and are travelling on the A321, can I advise against those seats in front of the exit rows in the middle of the cabin (i.e. rows 9 and 25) as these seats sometimes have a limited, or no, view of a window; sometimes they have no recline because of their position in relation to the emergency exit.
Hope this helps
Thanks
Christine w, please see
I will have to keep looking. After some reasonable priced flight to Palma next summer.
christine w,
partyboy_uk many thanks for your thorough replies. I am still in limbo of whether to check in at the airport and ask for a window seat or pay the £7.50 to get my requested seat.

Hi all! just got back from my trip to Tenerife and would like to thank all the monarch staff for 2 great flights! on time, friendly staff - 5* airline - will definitely use again next year. Oh and its also very worth checking in online when overseas, at Tenerife airport there were 2 massive queues and i skipped it all with my online boarding pass!!!
