Hi Darren, are MyTravel still using the Boeing 767-31K's on their Goa route this month? We travel on the 24th Jan from Manchester.
Could you tell me the seating plans for this plane, we are a family of 3 and do not want to get seperated.

Thanks

yummymummy,

The last flight to Goa, MYT095/6 on 10th Jan was operated by G-DAJC, Boeing 767-31K, so yes! MYT don't produce a seating plan for this aircraft. However, Monarch's 763 seating plan is virtually identical, click here as G-DIMB in an ex-Airtours / My Travel aircraft.

Hi Darren,

Just got our flight tickets for Goa next week.

Says we are flying on a B767.

Could you tell me what the inflight entertainment is like, and also the seat layout.

Thanks again

Nicola

EDIT: sorry Darren, you have already told me in previous posts.

Inflight meals?

Decided to opt out of paying the extortionate prices, so just going to get a bite to eat before we board, then go in boots and stock up on nibbles.

But this is what i do not understand, how do the cabin crew know who has and hasnt paid for inflight meals? Obviously it doesnt go off seat numbers, because that isnt determined until you check in.

When we've flown short haul the non meals passengers have been at the back of the plane while the passengers having meals have been at the front as they know how many are having meals so you usually get allocated front or back depending on whether you have paid. Quite often you will find the seats were allocated before check in so you can't always change the ones you get given.

Long haul meals have usually been included in the price of the flight and you get a meal automatically.

yummymummy,

did you opt out of the inflight meals when you booked? MYT's meals aren't normally too bad. If so, as Groovee mentions, passengers with meals are normally positioned together during check-in (normally the front of the aircraft) and meals given out to those rows. Cabin crew also have a copy of the passenger manifest which details things such as meals.

Details of films etc are available on the My Travel Magazine (Recline) website.

Thanks Groovee and Darren.

They didnt even mention meals, so i presumed that it was standard because its a long haul flight.

But when i picked our tickets up this afternoon, i checked through our tickets and it says we havent ordered any inflight meals.

Im not too bothered really, we can always grab a few sandwiches and snacks from Boots before we board.

How do you go about booking extras such as chocolates and champagne?
Is there a specific phone number to book these extras, or do we have to go into where we booked and ask them?

Thanks

yummymummy,

If it says no meals on your tickets, you probably won't have but it might be worth asking to see if they are included or not to save you the expense. Meals are nornally included unless you opt out. Details of booking champagne / choccies here (scroll 3/4 way down the page).

Thanks Daz.

Also another quick question regarding IFE.
I have had a look on the mytravelmag website for the featured films showing, and as i am flying with the b767 and not the a322, does this mean that only a couple of the films and programmes will be shown on the aisle tv?

Just phoned the number to try and book the chocolates and champagne, but it said if you have booked through a travel agent, then due to contractual reasons you need to contact them and they can make arrangements.
I would have thought it would be easier to contact MyTravel directly to ask for this extra, instead of going around in circles

Ive just emailed my local going places, although it is now thomascook.
They replied in a few minutes saying i need to go in and book the extras as its less than a week before we depart :)

yummymummy,

You'll get there in the end!! Regarding the IFE on the 763, they'll have a selection of films and the usual tv programmes on the screens. They'll be from the selction but I don't know which.

When we flew longhaul with Airtours in 2006 we opted out of the inflight meals ( :yuck and were seated up the back of the plane . However on both flights we were offered meals .

We had meals on journeys with mytravel in march2007 and monarch nov 2007 although we never paid for the meals.

just wondered if anyone can give me a bit of re-assurance

booked with MY Travel but now have a TC new reference, when flying Premair you can't book your seats unless you phone, we need medical seats which I know can't be booked but row 2 looks like is blocked coming up with a line through it with the wording unavailable to book.

understand the 1st row being not able to book can anyone tell me if the 2nd row also falls under the same rule / category

Thanks Darren, sleeps, and carol.

I think we're going to get something to eat before we board the aircraft, and take some crisp and sandwiches from Boots just incase.
