On a recent holiday to the wow Topkapi hotel in Lara Beach Turkey my wife sliped on wet stairs and broke her ankle in three places. The accident happened the day before we were due to fly home. My wife had to under go a two hour opperation in turkey to reconstruct her ankle she then had to stay a further four days in hospital before she was fit to fly.
I was told by our holiday insurance company that there was no medical reson for me and the children to stay. we would have to catch our origonal flights home and leave my wife and the childrens mother all alone in turkey.
I was not happy with this so i remonstrated with the insurance company and they agreed for us to stay so i could look after my wife. we eventualy flew home five days late, by god it was good to get back in england where we could comunicate properly with the doctors.
Have you had an accident in turkey
How did you get on
How where you treted by your insurance company
It sounds to me that you have came into contact with a jobsworth at you holiday insurance company who has followed the rules to the letter not taking into account the fact that a husband & children are being asked too leave the boss in a strange country where she speaks no Turkish alone in a situation that is alien to her & the whole family .
But common sence prevailed & all has come good in the end ....I think it was more an insurance nightmare than a Turkish one
We are going to Turkey tomorrow for the first time ....but have experienced something similar in Bulgaria 4 yrs ago but only as an onlooker but I took pictures that eventually lead to compensation getting paid to the welsh lady involved after slipping on wet tiles.
all the best Stevie
Welcome onboard
