The apartments in costa teguise are roughly 15-20 minutes taxi from the airport, which usually costs us 15 euros, once 18 euros each way and is done quickly & comfortably. We always take this option now as it's cheaper than the coach and the last time we went, we had changed and were walking to the supermarket when the coach arrived with the people from our plane! Drivers usually speak a reasonable level of english, though we do write down our accomodation name for them just incase they don't understand the accents.
Insurance wise there's literally tens to hundreds you can use and it depends really on who you want to give your money to. I personally use boots as they offer the points scheme which soon adds up towards xmas presents! Otherwise all the banks offer it and the usual insurance companies. If you find a dirt cheap one I'd just make sure it covers everything you want though such as baggage cover.
Inflight meals are roughly 12 pounds per person for the return, so that shouldn't make such a huge hit for you. Again it depends if you want to eat on the flight or not, and which airline you'd be going with, as I found first choices' meals to be a lot tastier than thomsonflys' but that's obviously down to personal preference!
Costa Teguise itself is a lovely resort, a bit breezy but I often go with my brother for his november birthday and it's a nice warmth and not too cold for beach or pool for sure. There is a great webcam linked from a surfing school on the main beach and the url for this is

One final hint, if you go there, just to the left of the picture is a little place doing ice-creams, it's brilliant
Insure & Go I was looking at a similar deal for either the Sirocco or El Trebol myself with Travel Republic for late October recently and was very tempted (not going now, son wants a xmas job, daughter doesn't want to miss any school)
In-flight meals can be a bit hit-and-miss, if the flight is with Thomsons I wouldn't bother... You can always buy some sandwiches and bottles of drinks at the airport (after security of course) and even with airport prices it will still be cheaper than the in-flight meals.
Get it booked and have a great time!
I'd say go for the deal! Costa Teguise is lovely, and the Sirocco apartments are in a fairly good location. The taxi from the airport will almost definitely be much cheaper than whatever transfer cost you've been quoted from your booking agent; and for insurance I always use In-flight meals can be a bit hit-and-miss, if the flight is with Thomsons I wouldn't bother... Great thanks both. Have now got my insurance set up with Insure and go (on the list link sent by Pippy and recommended by cyberspacekadette) and will book the holiday tomorrow. Many many thanks for all your advice and for the webcam link Hyper music. I am really looking forward to it now, you have all made it so much easier. Best wishes to you all. Will post back when booked and say when going. Pauline
