well, we didn't do any as we spent the week by the pool or beach! This is the first time ever that we've not gone sightseeing - either cos there wasn't any or we were happy to stay by the pool/beach.

But there are loads - marakesh (overnight stay), Essouria, camel rides (but rumour has it, while the ride is 200 dirhams for 2 people for an hour, they expect a tip of 100 to get off!!!), the Kasbah (only bit of ancient Agadir remaining after the earthquake) although that's meant to be a, errrr, quick trip. You can quad bike, hire mopeds (with Helmets, although the drivers are mad and drive at night with no lights on so I wouldn't really recommend that unless you're worth a packet in insurance hehe) etc etc...

but we just hung around the pool in the morning, went for a walk early afternoon (I'm fair skinned and burn really easily) then beach after that :D If you like walking, the souk is 20-25 mins past the Royal Palace (not that you see anything of the palace) and I could spend hours there, it's meant to be good in the evening although we went 9-11am.

Oh, there's also a horse and carriage ride past the Palace to the Dunes - loads.

I think they've invented tons of trips to (a) get you to spend some money (we only spent £80 ALL week including tips and shedloads of souvenirs!!! to food and drink is so good, there's no need to go off campus  ) and (b) cos there's not a lot to actually sight-see in Agadir itself.

Thanks for a great report. Only 9 weeks for us now and hopefully we will be enjoying it as much as you did. :) As long as the suns shining i,m sure will have fun. Did you take any photos :?: I know I've asked this before but never got an answer from someone else could you tell me what the dress code is for the men on an evening with regards going to dinner please :?: :thanks

photos - yup, a few. Evening dress code - in the Oasis (buffet restaurant), t-shirt and shorts was acceptable! My old man went in short sleeved shirt and combats to the a la carte ones. I guess it's just to stop people turning up in swimwear & sarongs etc (which they do at lunch). Definitely NOT collar tie!

:thanks for that, No were not the collar tie type on holiday, at least he can wear his 3/4's and a polo shirt for the evening's, as it might be a little bit warm in July

If you go onto the website at http://www.thomson.co.uk and click onto what others think, read reviews, then view accomodation reviews, then answer the questions, winter 2005, destination Morocco Agadir, then resort Agadir, then click accomodation Hotel el Pueblo Tamlelt which is part of the Occidental Caribbean Village where you will be going, you can read some good reviews of this hotel. Click onto details and it will show you some good photos and you can click onto broadband video and it will show you 2 videos, one of the hotel and another one of Agadir itself. Sorry its abit long winded, but tried to tell you the best I can.

Hi I'm off to this hotel in July and after reading the recent reviews I can't wait! I was a bit dubious to begin with and I only booked it last week. We were originally going to Egypt but changed our minds (cowards we are, I know) after the bomb that went off.

Anyway, can anyone tell me if air conditioning is available and if you can pay for a fridge in your room or anything?

Thanx!

Not sure about aircon - we went with Thomson and they said all their rooms were airconditioned but all we had was a panel heater (and we used it!). As for a fridge - we didn't need one, if your beer gets warm, you go to the bar and get a fresh one  And if you want food for breakfast, you go to the restaurant! You'll have a great time

Ive been having a look at this hotel Karen in the eclipse brochure. it sounds lovely and it doesnt sound isolated which is a bonus. I have just priced it up for me and its coming up at £2800 for the 5 of us 23rd july for 2 weeks . they actually do child prices up to 16. that works out £1000 cheaper than the BB for us. its a good deal me thinks. so i might look at that for 2008
