I am flying with Onur Air for the first time this Thursday (11th):

11-SEP-08 MANCHESTER 09:30 DALAMAN 15:45 OHY4498
18-SEP-08 DALAMAN 05:25 MANCHESTER 07:55 OHY4497

I haven't received any tickets yet. We booked through Airflights.co.uk who in turn get their tickets from Goldtrail. Aiflights told us we are now receiving our tickets on departure and are to get them 2 hours before the flight, at the agencies desk in T2.

Does anyone have any experience of this? I have always used Thomsonfly and booked through them direct, so I am quite anxious about this. Should I be worrying?

I wouldn't worry, these days most airlines are ticketless anyway, more often than not they have your name already on the pc at the check in desk, you just hand over your passport.

To be honest I can not remember the last time I had a ticket to hand over, and I fly alot.

I flew on flights OHY4498/4497 recently and was pleasatly suprised by this airline. read a few bad reviews about them but everything was fine. Crew were quite friendly, plane was in good condition, left on time, perfect landings nothing to worry about. The food and drink was a little more expensive but its just the same as any other airline really. The staff didnt speak great english but it could be understood if u listened hard enough.

Flight home was delayed for an hour or so with no reason but we got set off promptly once they began to board and we made it home only 20mins later than scheduled. The lights were kept on the plane which was the only grumble i have. We had all been travelling since midnight and obviously no-one had slept it would of been nice of them to swtich off the lights and let us rest but they came round with trolleys etc. other than that i would use them again as they were a chea budget airline. I was a little scared of them at first after reading previous reviews but i can honestly say they werent as bad as i thought.

Hope this information helps someone

Just back from Turkey flew with Onur, they were fine, left on time going out and coming home.Staff onboard were fine, friendly enough, captain spoke a few times and i understood what he was saying. Duty free prices were pretty good, the only gripe was the price of juice/drinks on plane but then again i did get my return flight for £70 so i can't grumble at paying £2.50 for a tin of juice :D

Hi Darren, did you find out what my aircraft is? OHY756 out of Glasgow to Bodrum. And any idea of seats to avoid? Have awful memories of a flight home from Bulgaria - we were sat at the back of a bank of seats, our backrest was right against the 'wall' behind so we couldnt recline...and the people in front of us did...it was awful, talk about squashed! :cry

Kirrie,

Should be an Airbus A321-200. All the seats are pretty much the same, they don't vary.

Thank you Darren, that was quick! They are the newer planes, right?

Kirrie,

The A321's are the newer aircraft. They also operate larger Airbus A300B4's and smaller MD80's.

Hi, I just got back from Marmaris yesterday and I flew with Onur airlines from Doncaster, I was very sceptical about flying with them after some of the stories I had been reading, we had flights only booked with Goldtail. The flight out was delayed one hour which was not bad, the plane itself was a little tired inside, the cabin crew were friendly and we even got free meals and drinks, which I have to say was not very nice but hey they were free. On the return flight which was on time we were lucky enough to get extra leg room, we just asked at check in if there were any seats available and you dont have to pay any extra like some other airline that I have used, this plane was very clean and comfortable and again the crew were very nice. I have already booked with them again for next June, They dont seem to be any worse or any better than any other airline in my opinion, just hope they dont go under like some of the other companys.
Kristina.
