Not sure about the sea, but the pools are freezing September when we go, and that's when it's still hot. Sorry

Been in the sea at that time, a bit cool but not unpleasant. In fact once you are over the initial shock it can be very pleasant.

Thanks

I thought that if we chose a quiet, out of the way resort in late Oct that at least we'd have the pool and sea for entertainment - umm perhaps not!!

Why would you want a warm pool? The whole point of a pool is to cool you down!

You are right, the sea is at it's warmest at the end of the summer, but pools cool down overnight.

If it's warm enough to sit out in your cossie, you'll enjoy the pool and the sea.

Cheers,

Hi Goodfellow good point

Normally you'd want a pool to cool you down but Im not expecting the weather to be hot in late Oct, so a warm pool would make a difference.

I have been many times in October and never managed to swim in the pools - too cold, but always managed the sea. That has been early to mid October though. Wouldn't fancy trying the pool at the end of October.. brrrr

Who would want a cold pool even in july and august, give me a warm pool anyday. I was in majorca july this year and the pools were freezing the first few days. Even being in for a while didn't make any difference. While I wanted to cool down I didn't want to be frozen. The sea should still be around 24c so warm enough for a swim. The sea always feels cold until your body gets used to the temp drop espeacially if the sun is hot.

Pick a hotel with a indoor pool as well, just in case the weather is unsettled and choose your resort carefully because some are shutting down for the season. I have been in late september and the pool was a no go area, but the sea was lovely.

You're in for a surprise then, take plenty of suncream, shorts & t-shirts. It's usually very pleasant, but can be changeable. Cool in the evening, you need a jacket or sweater.

Yes, I agree, I have also been many times in October, usually to Can Pastilla, the sea is nearly always ok when you get used top it, I do find the pools tooooo cold by far! (I usually try to book hotel with indoor pool as well to be on the safe side)
