Hee hee just renewed ours this Spring, kids now have adult passports too (youngest is 16, the other one is now 19), so we are all good for another ten years
It is horrendously expensive though - son had to renew his at the passport office in Liverpool because he needed it quickly with very short notice (told him to sort it out when I did mine and daughter's...
) It cost him £114, plus his train fare (and pub lunch while he waited 
) but he was very impressed with the service. Come to think of it, it cost me £114 - I had to lend him the money...
I think this is a rip off as it's not a new application just a name change. Is there a law to say I have to change it as I only use it once a year. I've booked next years holiday in my maiden name and plan to do this till it expires. Am I breaking the law by doing this as I don't want to be arrested 10 years down the line when I need to renew it again 
Just hope hubby doesn't book anysurprise holiday for me in my married name then.
