Hi Madmum,
Good to see you on the forum, looks like we have the same tastes in holidays, I'm going to the Algrave in August and have already booked up for Stalis next year.
How's the family? bet your new grandchild is getting big now.
Where abouts in the Algrave are you stopping?
Love Jen xxx
Now I'm jealous !!- I've got to wait 'till September.
I'm sure you'll love the Algarve - it's one of those places that gets under your skin; you may as well throw away your Greek phrase book now. Have a great time - what part of the Algarve are you going to ?
Just to help you top up your green colour.......it's only 5 days till we go to top up our golden colour!!!!!
Pat
.......... Wondered when you'd be back on, rubbin' it in !!
......if you want well and truly rubbed in.........we go back for 2 weeks in September too.....
Only 2 weeks ?? - it's not worth packing suitcases for 2 weeks.
maybe not, but it certainly is worth it when we go over the winter time for 2-3 months!!!!!!!!!!!!
Five or six weeks is our maximum; we went for 10 weeks a couple of years ago but were both ready for home after six weeks.

Hope you enjoy Albufeira; don't forget to pop into Floyd's bar to meet Perry ( Algarveaddick from this forum ) - you're sure of a warm welcome there.
Just in case you have forgotten....... we only have tomorrow to go ......then it's offski on Monday
Sadly, you won't get any more naf comments after this weekend until I return
Had a look at the weather and it appears to be 24 -28 degrees
So I daresay that will be a good excuse for hubby to sink a few canecas of sagres
Pat
Have a good time, Pat; I think the Summer has arrived on the Algarve - on the webcams I watch it's been sunny and in the high 70's for the last week.
Have a great time Pat 5 weeks yesterday for us
Now don't let's start counting - We've got bloody ages to go yet !!!
Pat
getting near to Hols Aug 26th can't wait. Heard so many good things about the Algrave, always gone to the Greek islands fancied a change this year.
It's nice to hear from you; the chat thread has been quiet for the past few days.
I'm certain that you'll love the Algarve - there's something there for everybody and the people are so friendly and welcoming - they're genuinely pleased to see you ( and not just your wallet as in some other places).
Remember to get out and about as much as you can and you're bound to find somewhere that is just made for you. In Albufeira, you're in the busiest part of the Algarve, yet just a few miles away you can find places that are really quiet.
I was searching the web last night, looking for airport transfers for September, and came accross this firm:-http://algarvetransfer-excursions.com/_wsn/page3.html who do tours as well as transfers, and their prices look very competetive; it might be an idea to take a copy of their prices with you and compare them to those offered by your tour operator - bet you'll save a fortune !!
Do try and visit Lagos - I'm sure you'll love the place; if you manage to get a full day there, take the opportunity to vist the grottos on one of the small fishing boats- there are grottos all over coastal Europe, but these are really worth seeing.
That's it ! I've made myself homesick for the Algarve now, and I've got to wait 'till September. Speak to you before you go.
Geoff
We have just booked a villa again in Portugal old town, we go late September so hoping the weather will still be nice, looking forward to it though.
We've been holidaying on the Algarve in September for the past 17 or 18 years and the weather has never let us down. Unless you're a major jinx, I don't think you've anything to worry about.
