Hi
I'm off to Portugal on Thursday morning from Birmingham and i just wondered what the weather was like over there at the mintue.
Will I need to pack a jacket or top for the evenings (I feel the cold very easily) or is it warm?

Also can anyone recommend any good bars/places to eat close to the Falesia Hotel in Acoteias???

Hi Watkins,
Have a look at: http://www.wunderground.com/global/stations/08554.html This will give you the current weather and a five day forecast.
You shouldn't really need a coat at this time of the year, but, having said that, the Algarve is on the Atlantic coast and any breeze from the sea can have a bit of a nip to it.If you've got room to spare in your suitcase, perhaps a fleece will help if you are susceptible to the cold.
Have a great time and don't be surprised if the fleece stays in the case. :)

Hi lorry, and welcome to the Portugal forum.
If you log on to :-http://www.wunderground.com/global/stations/08554.html you will see a "History & Almanac" link;you can enter your holiday dates in here and it will bring up the actual weather statistics for those dates in past years.
We stayed at the Paraiso at Christmas - it's a huge hotel situated midway between the Old Town and the Strip (we preferred the Old Town by far).We stayed on All-inclusive basis and found the food quite acceptable but I would suggest that you consider B/B board as there is a huge choice of first class restaurants and bars in Albufeira and you'll be missing a lot if you restrict yourselves to the hotel for all your meals.
Almost everywhere will still be open in November and there will be plenty in the town and nearby to keep you all entertained. Enjoy !!

It is a bit breezy in the evenings at the moment, so I would take a jacket.

Regarding Novemeber, the day time weather should be okay, although you might encounter the odd shower. The evenings will be chilly, so take something warm for sure!

Dont think its the saem hotel Jay Jan. The one i stopped at is the Falesia Hotel Olhos d Agua.

Thats the hotel i am staying in Mad Mick.

I know there is two, but i thought they were both in Acoteias. I'm going to the one which is not a Rui hotel.

The one in Olhos d Agua is The Riu Falesia. If you check hotel reviews I wrote a review on it last year. Are you definitely stopping in Olhos d Agua
Watkins?

Hi all,
3 weeks today and still counting...........except, remember last time when we were going away at the end of May and mum-in-law (87yrs) fell and broke her hip and was in hospital and we were worried that we might have to cancel?
Well, she is still in hospital and she is deteriorating.......infection after infection and her mind is also going.
So now hubby is starting to worry again about us not being here in case the worst happens.
Why do things never run smoothly at times????
Anyway, keep us in all your thoughts that all goes well and we get away again ( hope this doesn't sound too selfish!!)

Hi Pat,
Sorry, I didn't realise it was an ongoing situation with your mum-in-law;thought it had all sorted itself out for the better back in May.
Fingers crossed for you, hubby and,of course mum-in-law. :gluck
