Dear all who are lucky enough to still be going on their holidays, we arrived back in the early hours of Thursday morning but lets start from the beginning or i will tell you as much as possible in 5 minutes due to only just coming back to work and it is manic!
Arrival at Paphos airport, it was quiet and we got through really quickly.
Stayed at the Avanti Hotel and it was fantastic, food was overpriced but drinks were on par with the bars around there.
We ate at most of the resturants around there, The Rib Shack and the indians and the chinese and the italians that are all on the same street next to each other - all fantastic and excellent value for money!
As i said i am now a Mrs, we were married at St Georges Chaple by Fr, David, he was fantastic, really put a good spin on the day and kept me calm! We had our reception at the Avanti, it was fantastic, they catered for 53 without a problem. They arranged the DJ, the music was a bit dated but after an afternoon on Champers it still went down a treat! Airtours arranged my wedding co-ordinator, Sally i believe she worked for Sea Island or something like that, she was excellent, she arranged the extra transport and my photographer who did a crackin job!
The evening before the wedding we had a pre-wedding meal at Rimini's (which is next door to the Sunbow), it was excellent. My sister and friend organised it and as well as giving us a buffet of food we choose we still got a great discount, it worked out at £15 CYP each, most drank more than that in wine!
We ate at the grill house on the corner of the trangle (see a map - same street as Rimini's) was fantastic and had a live singer every night some played the piano which was excellent with your meal.
Our regular meet up after food was the Irish Bar (next to the bakery) or Peguses, we did start off at the crocodile bar however, after a run in with a very rude member of staff we did not go back - we sat for food one evening before the England match, some ordered burgers, steaks, pork chops etc, i ordered a plain salad, nothing extra or hard just some leaves and tomato - my group had finished their steaks and pork chops so i politely asked the lass if my salad was on the way, her reply was no it is probably still in the fridge so i asked how long would it be and in reply i got; it will take as long as it needs to take and i should just wait my turn, so of course when it did come i didnt eat it, god knows what they did to it!
So we did the bar street thing at the Harbour, had some really good nights! Beer is much cheaper here i believe my father-in-law found a bar doing Keo for 89p or cents hehehe
However saving the best for last Fat Mama's, you have to take the trip there, HUGE portions, fantastic atmosphere, excellent value for money - down side is the Queues to get in!
Going home it was manic, there had been a flight cancelled another had returned after an issue with an engine! It was packed, i think we were a little delayed but not much, it is a small airport and i didnt find it too bad but would hate to be stuck there longer than 3 hours as there is nothing to do other than eat!!!!!!
All in all a fanastic holiday, i would def go back!
Enjoy for all you who are getting ready to go, it was really heating up when i left and the mossies are everywhere! Also just while i remember i have never been to a place with so many opticians, very strange but again really reasonably priced!
Congratulations, Ally. So pleased that everything went well and you had such a lovely day.
Congratulations Ally!
