If you have seen any of my other posts you will know that I have 5 pairs of Crocs and 2 pair of Veggies (the Australian versian which cost the same as Crocs and were brought out at the same time but have nice patterns on them (maybe the same company with a different name - who knows)
Anyway my question is - when do you wear your Crocs?
I don't live in the UK but have just spent 3 weeks there and in that time have only seen 3 pairs out and about on the streets - 1 blue pair worn with a white socks
I wore mine the whole time I was there when I was out shopping etc. and last week in the rain they were a god send as they do not slip on wet surfaces - they were designed for deck wear on boats so that they would not slip and became a fashion item.
So please tell me are you saving them for your hols? - if you are going somewhere with nice fine sand you will hate them - it gets through the holes and you can't get the stuff out but they are brilliant for walking on the promenade. So where are they all?
i dont even own a pair
Hi narial - Frank said "What have you bought me those for?" and has rarely had them off his feet since. He was delighted when one of our "with it" friends saw him in the city - Nottingham - and said, "Hey Frank, are those Crocs?" He's now asking for additional pairs for Tunisia! So at least one pair are being worn in our city. Jenny x
But I must say whilst on holiday I saw loads of people wearing them by the pool and on the beach and they did look okay.......................infact.............................. I'm thinking of buying a pretty pink pair to go rockpooling in seahouses and snorkelling round the rock pools in Cyprus. The bairn wants some too.
So I may become a croc convert..................I'll let you know.
Hi CMT - I actually laughed out loud at the description of Frank possibly being a chav - he's 64 years old - and has a white beard, so don't think that he actually qualifies - but I know what you mean! (He doesn'twear socks with them either!! Jenny x
sorry to say i only wear mine round the house that is till i go back to goa and i never leave them off then, it maybe just me but i think they look different when worn other than on a beach to me they are just for holidays.
kust done a google search on crocs
Best thing for holidays lightweight and waterproof very versatile
I have 2 pairs and my daughter has a pair and we wear them all the time. They are soooo comfortable and practical. Have just converted my mum, bought her a pair for her birthday and they are never off her feet now. I work in a large supermarket and regularly see customers with crocs on their feet. Many of my friends have them to and, no, we're not chavs On a recent appointment at the local hospital I noticed that there were many nurses and associated folkies wearing crocs to. I am often surprised by the amount of people who ask me where I got my crocs and are they really that comfy.
I bought mine on the last morning of my holiday in Vegas so didn't get a chance to wear them there. I have worn them one evening since I got home, but feel they're really holiday shoes so I'm hoping to wear them in Benidorm in 8 weeks time.
Sorry Frank.
Ps, will they be okay for rockpooling..................don't want to slip and end up on my arse.
I'm a hairedresser and they are sooocomfy for my feet all day, my 6yr old daughter wears hers for school too !
I must admit we have bought 'mock crocks ' for a fraction of the price ie 5 euros in tenerife !
got them in every colour, once you get used to the fact they're erm, unusual looking, you can wear them with anything !
have fun !
I wear my blue ones at the caravan, white ones at home and navy Asda ones for shopping.Last week in Turkey the tar on the roads was melting and so did the soles on my white ones!,I dont know if thats because they are not the original ones.By the way I went into a shop who sold the real ones and tried them on and the only difference was I could feel the bumps in the floor through the sole with mine. The shop assistant asked if I needed help but when she saw I already had a pair on she whispered"I wouldnt pay £30 for them".I told her mine were £4 in TG Hughes and £5 in Asda!.
I wear mine all day every day! lol I have a pair of black Mary Janes for work and for when my fuschia Caymans dont go with my clothes! Having very wide size 9 feet Crocs are a godsend.
I bought a similiar type of shoe in Benidorm in April and they did come in useful for the beach, but didn't use them any other time.
Went to buy a pair of real crocs in Torremolinos and Fuengirola and only had the option of navy blue or fushia pink in a size 6...all the other colours had been sold, so someone must be buying them and wearing them, but not necessarily outdoors and it became a game of " spot the crocs"
Sanjiiiiiiii
Hi.I have 2 pairs both black, one for work and the other for anytime.I am always wearing them, not so keen wearing them when it's wet.
Talking about the light weight of these croc's whilst on holiday in goa i was crossing a river bed when i slipped over on a rock the next thing i know my one croc had come off there i was trying to look for it in the sea water whilst the water had been disturbed and all mirky my friend noticed it had floated off towards the sea there i was trying to gather speed to get it back,i saw a group of young indian males playing about in the sea and shouted for them to save my croc (fancy shouting save my croc) they probably thought i meant a crocodile at first but in the end i got it back.Just thinking about it now still makes me laugh.
I brought the usual - trainers and fancy shoes for at night, but keep coming back to my crocs - the best thing ever!
I am just about to order some crocs, my daughter is measuring approx 22.5cm which is just over a three. Do they come up large or do you think I would be better off ordering the adult 4. She wanted the Disney ones but they only do the kids in Caymans the adults are Beach which would be far too wide for her.
Thanks
They do come up large kaz. I usually have to try things on because I can vary between 5 and 6 but I was advised to go for the 5 in crocs and they are plenty big enough (they are supposed to be roomy anyway but somehow still stay on!).
