When we first arrived in marmaris we went to gima, all the prices were shown and after a week i noticed all the prices had been taken off and im sure the next time we went in there the prices had risen.cant say for sure though but it seems strange that every price ticket had been removed
We stopped buying the cocktails bogof after a few days as the glasses were very thin and the time ice/mixers went in there wasnt much room for spirits anyway
You never get owt for nowt! as they say
wots the general price of a bottle of turkish beer in marmaris.never drink the export when i'm away. cheers
we have just come back from icmeler, and a big bottle of efes was anything from 2.50-3.50 lira......
in marmaris you can get a bottle of efes for 2.5 ytl in bars or 1.8 ytl at migros (supermarket)
The cost of a beer is 4ytl on the front but as others have said you can get cheaper off the beach front.
Hi there everyone, we fly to marmaris in 3 weeks time but we have been told the cost of food and drink has gone up dramatically from last year. They have said its not much different than here is that right. When we went last september a local beer was about 60p a pint and an english breakfast was about £1 is this still the case or could you give us a rough guide of wat the costs are now thanks karl
We were there in June and don't think the prices have changed at all since last year.I am going again in 6 weeks time and expect the prices to be the same.
at least 50% in that nearly 2 year period.
We have just got back from Icmeler it's the second time we have been there. The first time was in October 2005 the food prices have gone up by there was 4 of us, and we allocated £100 a day spending money, we had quite a bit left each day so the kids had it to go bartering for clothes etc.
Hamburger or Cheeseburger with Fries............5-00YTL =£2
Shop around there are still good prices to be had.
Gene
Quite worried about the prices, not been for about 4 years and this time we have got friends coming with us, we have told them ho great and cheap Turkey is... hope it doesn't let us down!
Cheers
just returned and found eating/drinking fairly cheap. I think the most we
paid for efes was 4.39 lira which was hotel. Some places are 5 lira but
were buy one get one free. Have a good holiday...
People shouldn't get too worried about the prices in Turkey going up, yes they have been steadily rising over the past few years and the days of really cheap food and beer seems to have gone. But compared to Spain, Greece, Italy etc. it is still reasonably cheap.
Just back from Icmeler last night, most places are 2.5-3.5 for efes, did find a place called Buffalo, which charged 1.5 for a 500ml bottle or 1 for 500ml on draugh. Went to see the Stella show at the Harmony bar, by the beach and the efes was 5.
I have to disagree with Lesley jane here, I dont see any price increases with Food whatsoever, 5 course set meals were £5.99 in 2005 and they still are £5.99 in 2007 I have been three times this year in April June and August, Yes Effe's has gone up in price slightly, Shoparound for the best deals.
I have told him to take food and drink with hom to dalaman airport because of the posts here warning it very expensive for food and drink at the airport.
If I do end up going to turkey next year it will be to a good A/I
Probably said 5ytl thats how much they all were charging a few weeks ago last year and the yera before so i cant see it has jumped up to 12.5ytl,and thats for a large one 3ytl for small
