strangly enough i am a kentish man but moved to bedfordshire 6 yrs ago

when i first came to bedford on buisness there was about 9 works in the area today there is one which looks like it may close in the near future,

my particular speciality was cladding material [brick stone slate tiles etc] for listed buildings from 1550 to 1900

now semi retired working in the motor industry and slaving on HT

I thought it was HURN airfield not HERN?

Weather is still very pleasant even quite hot yesterday afternoon while I was in Olhos D'Agua, sitting on the beach, whiling away a spare hour having tramped round various building sites in the interests of my correspondents from another place.

There's a couple of nice brick and tile works near Algoz and Paderne!

Hi Cubsur, Re the brick & tile works in Algoz & Paderne, can you buy direct from the factory or is it trade only? would be interesting to see if they have some unusual tiles etc what you couldnt get in the shop outlets. Cheers Jayjan

Jayjan - no idea sorry. I just see them from the bus!
