:wave. Not a good one for me. Put 1lb on this week. Its up and down like a yoyo at the moment. I seem to be doing really well during the week and then the weekend comes and forget it. Thats where all my damage is being done. I just cant say no to all those nice things that people are making me eat and drink

Going to try and be really good this week (and weekend :) ) and see if I can shake off a couple of lbs. Fingers (and toes) crossed! :gluck all.

Well 0.5lb off for me today. It was 1lb on my own scales but never mind. From little half lbs, great stones emerge!!

I bought a 5 week(+1) countdown today so that's my incentive to keep going.

I'm going to make a lamb casserole with some Harissa paste tonight. I bought a pack of diced casserole lamb.I hope it's not too fatty. I'll brown and drain it well first.

How's everyone else doing?

Hi All,

Well after maintaining last week, I lost 0.5lb this week, not bad as I had works Xmas do on Saturday night and my birthday Monday. Just need to lose 4.5 lbs to get to target so I'm trying really hard this week and next so I can relax a little over Xmas.

Well done hbrac, as you say every little loss helps. What on earth is Harissa paste? Lamb casserole sounds lovely, wish I was coming round for tea!!!

Swimsuit, thats a fab weight loss.! well done!!

Good luck everyone

I actually prefer Harrissa paste to curry powder. With curry I always either put too much in or not enough. Harrissa paste is the Moroccan chilli paste used in Tagine dishes. Nice if you add something sweet like dried apricots or prunes as well. Just enough heat for me without needing the Zantac
Well done to everybody for losing even little amounts of weight. I'd be happy just to maintain this Christmas!!

Hi Everyone,
Well done to those that have lost and to those like me who have not or put on keep trying
I put on 2lb last weigh in, probably my own fault and partially as I was a bit unwell. Can't quite get back into the SW routine have very good intentions at the start of each day thouugh!!!!
Just come back from Christmas shopping and had a lovely brunch veggie style, we are off tonight and there will be a lovely buffet going to do my best and there will be another SW memmber there also so going to 'look after one another' If I can keep away from the nibbles and stick with salad, rice/pasta and potatoes I will be ok it will be keeping sensible when I have had some wine!!!!!
We have a SW Christmas party booked for 19th December and our weigh in's are 23rd and 30th of December - to lose a few more llb's and maintain over the holiday is my wish :P
Off to do some housework and then hubby is going to start putting up the deccies/tree.
Still quite a few presents to buy - what about everyone alse.? Trawling the shops and the Internet looking for a White Nintendo DS lite for youngest son - they are like gold dust :( I should have walked off lbs doing that alone!!!
Speak later.

my diet has gone right out the window, it is now so near christmas that I dont think I will bother till after new year. Joolz I also blame it on the booze Asda are doing 3 for £10 on all their good wines and I cant resist.
I hope everyone else can resist and have a good weight loss for christmas. I just wish that when I have a drink I didnt crave food-any suggestions (apart from giving up the booze at this time of year)

How about having a jacket potato before you go out or beans on toast or something else hot and filling. Then you won't feel tempted to eat.

bonnielass have a brilliant christmas and get back into slimming in the new year. whats the point in being unhappy when you are ready you will know it because it wasnt the right time for me last time i did sw and this time it feels right and i know my limits. i must admit it is easier for me as i am still breastfeeding so i cant have lots to drink but i know my sister saves her sins all week so she can drink at the weekend!!! lindsay

Bonnie lass im the same with the 3 for £10 at adsa, trouble is me and hubby drink the 3 in one night!!!!.... and im the same as you when i drink.... cant stop eating the savoury things..... was dipping cauliflower in mayo last night

Well I also get the booze problem. Totally my own fault. I don't HAVE to drink but, well..............

Luckily for me because I have no ties and I'm off work from 21st to 2nd Jan that I will be able to go to the gym most days and at least work some of it off.

I don't plan on eating much different to usual except for Xmas day but that does depend on whether I get given chocolates or not.

But hey, don't worry folks, just don't eat everything (or drink) for the sake of it just cos you've decided it's useless to try at the moment (I do agree).

Hi All

Seen this thread and thought I would share with you a few simple diet tips that have helped me. Following these tips has helped me lose 1-2 pounds a week...

1. If you really crave a packet of crisps choose quavers or french fries, they have less than half the fat of standard crips and under a 100 calories a pack

2. Cut back on chocolate & cheese - sounds obvious but just cutting down these two foods made such a diffence to me as they are both so high in fat

3. Eat everything in moderation, cutting out whole food groups such as carbs or proteins is very hard to maintain and not good for you in the long run, I eat a little from each food group and nothing in excess

4. A delicious low fat snack is Nairns Oat cakes (they come in several different flavours) topped with a little low fat spread and a slice of low fat turkey ham. As they are made from oats they make you feel fuller for longer

5. Look at the satuated fat on things, don't be scared off by fish as it is relatively high in fat - it is still low in satuated fat

Good luck everybody!

I'm going in precisely one hour for an evening weigh in instead of tomorrow morning. I'll be pleased just to maintain but I have a feeling that the 50th anniversary dinner I went to has wiped out any good I did during the week
