Meant to say that your son would definately be entitled to a full refund should he wish to cancel as the change is a major one (more than 12 hours)

It has crossed my mind that as they don't fly out of Bourgas until the Saturday morning they should be entitled to their room until departure ?

Holiday companies have you by the you know whats :yikes all the time.

I tried to get back throught to DH / Thomas Cookup after they changed our hotel this afternoon for our holiday on Monday and all I get is an answering machine telling me to leave a message and they will get back to me, yeah right I am still waiting.

Take a look at the Egypt forum for the tales of those going (or not as the case is) to the Ghazala Gardens, I feel really sorry for the others travellers who think they are going to this hotel on Monday and don't know yet their hotel has been changed, about 20ish according to the guy at Thomas Cookup this afternoon.

Well as I said earlier No more DH, T Cook, MyTravel, Panorama or any other part of the Thomas Cook group for me :tdown

I booked a holiday to benidorm 2 weeks ago for the weeks 28/06/08 to 05/07/08 leaving from glasgow throught direct holidays online, to cut a long story short , more of my family decided that they would like to join us, so i went to their site to book their holiday in the same hotel, dates etc, and i think that on that date it is sold out, anyway i decided to try and get flights then get the accommodation seperate, however being redirected to fly thomas cook website , the flight according to their website is to depart at 14.05 but our flight with direct holidays departs at 06.35 , whats strange is our flight and the flight on thomas cooks site is the same flight number TCX567K, and it is the same coming back both flights have same flight numbers but different times. I phoned direct holidays and all they keep telling me is that it is highly impossible that 2 flights will leave same airport and have same flight numbers on same day and according to their system we leave at 06.35 so i am unsure what to think. :que

I think you are being fobbed off, no two flights have the same flight no on the same day

Having done a bit more checking flight TCX567K last season departed Glasgow 14:05 so going by this information I would assume that your correct flight time will be 14:05.

Now that AirTours / Direct Holidays have 'merged' AKA been taken over by Thomas Cook a lot of flights have been transfered to Thomas Cook flights and also numerious hotels have been dropped by them.

It appeared that that the hotel we are going to tomorrow (booked through Direct Holidays) had been fully booked when friends of ours tried to book it, but in reallity Thomas Cook don't go there anymore and we got a phone call yesterday telling us that we were being moved to another hotel.

It might be advisable just to keep an eye on this site for information re the hotel your are going to incase of any changes.

Now They've Jsut Sent Me An Email Saying Thanks For Canceling Your Holiday!

When We Havent Even Done Anything!

Thanks graham for replying, i too checked the glasgow airport website to check the summer timetables for flights to alicante on a saturday and there is only two flights which we possibly could be on the direct holiday or airtours but flight numbers myt,however i am aware of the chaos with the my travel and thomas cook merger, we had problems in november last year with them , so maybe the myt flight will change to tcx, but i think its bad that i have found out another way that my flight will be later on in the day, regards to your hotel i hope that we don't get moved , the hotel we are booked to go to we have been to before and only booked with direct hols as it was the cheapest by about 800 pounds. But on the plus side we only paid 4 pounds deposits and balance to be paid end of may so i will be keeping an eye on things here and about on othe sites :)

Just read your last post and thought I should ask are you certain about not having to pay any more until May? When I booked with DH I paid a low deposit and then had to pay the remainder of the deposit 6 or 8 weeks later, can't remember which. When I booked the holiday the operator made no reference to this and it didn't state it on the invoice I received either, it was only the fact that I recalled doing the same in previous years that I phoned and queried it with them. I think it's somewhere in their T&C's so I would just double check if I were you, would hate for you to get a snotty letter or phone call from them.

Also on the subject of flight codes, I fly from Bham in Aug and the flight is still showing as MYT on Bham airports website too. I was informed by DH this will definately change to TCX but they haven't allocated the codes yet.

Just re-read your first post regarding the different flights and flight numbers. Don't know whether this will put your mind at rest a little but I had a similar query. Basically my holiday flight booked as a package with Direct only appears on their website for new bookings for holidays, if I want to book just a flight it does not show on the Thomas Cook website. I can only assume that as my flight is an old MYT one that these are being reserved for Airtours/Direct holiday bookings only, the flight does not appear if your try to book a TC package either. I was assured by a very nice lady at Thomas Cook operations department that my flight is definately still operating for next year, it's just that you cannot book flight only onto it. Am still keeping everything crossed though that this is right!!

Hi nic, i just looked at my invoice i was sent by post and email and they both say final balance due by 03/05/08 which would mean 8 weeks before we go on the 28 of june. The situation with our flights is still the same, if you go to fly thomas cook and try and book flights to alicante on the 28/06/08 its still saying the flight leaves at 14.05, and according to direct holidays and my invoice 06.35, i tried to book the same holiday through thomas cook's website but its telling me no holidays found, the only thing i can think of is that our flight number might change and we might be put on a early flight, but in the meantime i will keep my eyes peeled ;)

Just looking at my original invoice. Booked my holiday on 28th Aug 07 and like yours the invoice states balance to be paid by 14th June 08 (about 8 wks before dep) no mention at all about paying the remainder of the low deposit.

If you look at the back of the invoice (if yours is the same as mine) the first section headed 'Our Agreement' states towards the end of the 4th paragraph that if you've taken a low deposit the remainder of that deposit has to be paid 8 weeks after booking. It's seems a bit sneeky the way they do it, maybe your holiday booking is different but just double check your invoice. They did write to me to remind me a couple of weeks before the deposit balance was due, which was good of them!

The full deposit is £120 per person including children (paid for and free places) so just be prepared!!

Just had a quick look at DH website. If you click on the link re low deposit then scroll to the bottom there's some small print about paying the remainder of the dep 8 weeks after booking. You'd think they'd make it a bit clearer for people!!

If you can't get through on the phone, reply to the email that they have sent you saying that you haven't cancelled your holiday and what is going on etc? Try and print off copies of any emails incase you need them at a later stage.

When do you travel, seems odd, perhaps it's an error? Can't see them cancelling your holiday as presumably you have paid a deposit and they would wany your money for the balance.

Hi all, i booked with D/hols last July for 2 weeks in Tunisia for July this year have had one letter from them saying my flight times had changed from 6am to 21.15 hrs which wasn't a big issue at the time untill i went into their office in Belfast to make a payment and enquired about the flight times and was told the flight was departing on the Wed and not on the Thurs.... i have to book my holidays with work well in advance and now i have to take the Wed as unpaid leave, their customers are suffering at their :swear ups.... :rage Have recently been back into their office to pay more of my holiday and asked about the flights again and was told the flight is departing at 6am and into the bargain one min its Mytravel the next its Thomas Cook Airlines not that it matters who the airline is.Its ok for them to change your flight times etc but if it was you it would cost you to change. :swear,was told to wait on a letter from Thomas Cook regarding changes still waiting !!! :banghead:

After my post a couple of days ago about my booking with direct holidays, i have just checked fly thomas cooks website and they now have my flight going out to benidorm at 06.35 instead of 2pm, so maybe DH flight times were correct and thomas cooks times were all the time wrong, baffles me though :think

Hello. We booked our holiday with Direct Holidays and paid for them on the 19th jan but has of yet had no correspondence from them to say thanx for receiving the monies.
I have tried in vain to get in touch by phone but the usual hanging on/ music playing thing goes on forever..There's no email address just the phone No.I would like to know that the cheque was cashed by the right people and my holiday is still on.

I have phoned our local T/A but they are'nt interested has we booked this holiday online.
Do you think i should wait a little longer we should be going on holiday the 15th march. :think

sitting here typing this and trying to phone the above posts number for TC, went to Glasgow Direct holiday branch on Saturday to make a payment, flight been changed to 21,45 leaving Glasgow for Tunisia (originally 20:30)

Here,s the latest about DIRECT HOLIDAYS.....

DO NOT expect the on-line payment page to go up soon as it it is down indefinately (till it suits them!)

GLASGOW to Tunisia 15th June flight is now leaving 22:45 (TCX 641K)

TUNISA to Glasgow 29th June is now leaving 05.00 (TCX 641L)

I intend to keep a eye on these via Glasow airport

So you can go into their branch in glasgow to make a payment? I am in glasgow quite a lot and it saves me hanging on the phone for ever and ever just to make a payment, and as i haven't got a debit card i need to give the money to someone else and then i need to pass the phone on to them, is the glasgow branch just along from st enoch centre? I don't know the road but if memory is correct does it face onto a big car park and only a few blocks away from tjhughes?
