The old rust bucket is quite disgusting. I wouldnt like to sit in a shack each day and the River Princess was staring straight back at me, its not nice!

Still there on 27th jan, not much activity going on during the day but during the night theres a lot of banging
and clattering and a lot of flashes going on round the wheelhouse, dont know if their cutting or welding. Dont
know if their salvaging or scrapping it.

It sounds like they are starting to patch up the wheelhouse now, it seems like they must be starting to think they will be able to get her off this season after all !!
Unlike Gemma 33, I've a soft spot for the old lady, Since she went aground all those years ago, Ive watched the goings on with interest. If she had'nt gone aground, she was due to be scrapped, hence the rumours it was no accidental grounding, so it's a credit to whoever built her, that she's not broken up years ago. The monsoon storms are severe,as can be seen by the state of the beach at Sinquern, yet evey year when I return she's still there, rustier but still in one piece, but time must be running out now for her. You will miss her then Gramps when she is eventually moved. It will look strange when you go a walk along the beach or look out and she is no longer there.

I will miss her too, she is part of the scenery

The UK has it's own River Princess - the Riverdance which ran aground off Blackpool Beach.
Experts say that they hope to have it removed by next week sometime. :think

Let's see how long it will actually take. :rofl http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y258/mmacbain/TH1_B26882421201863326A0.jpg

Whether you love it or hate it, the River Princess story has been a great topic for debate. It will be strange when (or if ever) it does go but lets hope that the beach will quickly return to its former glory. Just hope it isn't going to be another one of those "never ending stories" :think

I have to say when we went to Candolim and saw it I thought, OMG how could anyone sit on a beach and look at that :que

I'm with you 100 per cent on that one Debi!
I guess some people who frequent that end of the beach a lot just get "attached" to the boat and would miss her not being there.

I think I know where I would rather be right now and it is certainly not here I can assure you, I do think I could put up with The R/P view and a couple or three of cold Kings, with the sweat running down my forehead, wondering just where we are going to eat tonight.

Oh well just have to go and get ready, end up in town. and later on will be freezing and waiting in the Q for a taxi.

So I say, don't knock the view and the old dear.....jxk8

Just a matter of opinion, given the choice I would be at Baga end enjoying that view,as I said each to their own :cheers enjoy your night out
