We have flights booked with GB airways for July this year. Thankfully Easyjet have kept the times the same at the moment, and I was very pleased to read that they are honouring the 23kg baggage allowance. So that I could take a copy of this information to the airport with me, I would be very grateful if 'Debdon' , or anyone else could tell me where to find this on the Easyjet web site.
Many thanks.
I have found a flight with Monarch charter with better times out and back but it will cost me an extra £200 I think I am going to accept the EZY flights, arrive early at check in and hope for the best. I know that if we can't get seats together the cabin crew will move people to enable me to sit with my daughter as she needs constant supervision but it's not ideal!
Itus, if you can find the 'search' facility on easyJet's site (bottom left of the home page?) and enter 'GB airways' there are quite a few postings on their Q&A section.
this is where is says they will honour the 23kg's

If you go to FAQ on the first page, then put in search space' BA ' it comes up with several answers.
In case that link doesn't wotk.
Deb.
Good luck Cazz, I think you've made the right decision as an extra £200 is too much to pay. I take it that none of us have yet heard from BA giving the reference number we need to claim our refund - I wonder who will be the first to post with positive news. Going to have a look at the easyJet site now.
sorry, we must have posted at the same time..!!
I have 2 flights booked with BA/GB one in may the other in september - both are still showing in manage my booking on BA's website.
I just wish I'd get my emails so I knew what was happening, perhaps they're sending them alphabetically
Deb
I've got my reference number to cancel - it was at the top of the email. The same email also confirms that the baggage allowance is 20Kg per passenger (+ sports equipment) and that food and drink can be purchased on the aircraft.
I don't think that they are sending them alphabetically Deb - my surname begins with 'V' so unless you're W X Y Z ..........
I have done as itus7 suggested, I have printed the page above regarding 23kg's luugage, so I will take that to the airport as proof.
Didn't think we'd get anything from them re food!!
Deb
Another thought was ''when'' we are flying, but my first flight is 18 weeks tomorrow, so it's not really that far away.
Just a thought have you a spam trap, maybe you need to check that?
Yes I have, been checking that constantly, Easyjet have my email address but BA have hubbys, I am also checking both of them - nothing so far.
Aslemma, my email tells me if I wish to cancel, I need to 'click the box' on the email or telephone BA on 0870 8509850. Maybe worth giving them a call - i'm sure they'll be able to locate your booking without a reference number.
Just spoken to a lady at BA - 0870 850 9850 option 3. I was told they were trying to catch up as the announcement had been put out a bit early. She asked for my BA reference number which I gave her and she immediately called me by name, so it was obviously on the system in front of her. I was asked to ring back tomorrow when she would be able to deal with the refund immediately. It looks as if fingers can soon be uncrossed.
Well done aslemma, at least something is happening.
The easyJet email states that everyone will eventually receive a booking cancellation email from BA. Even if you transfer your booking to easyJet, you will receive an email cancelling your BA flight. Guess BA will need to clear the bookings from their systems, and I guess for those who are transferring to easyJet flights they will just clear those bookings as a job lot at sometime in the near future...
It does indeed seem to be getting sorted at last. I hope all of us who are claiming get our refunds quickly and that others get confirmation that Easyjet will meet the terms of their original booking.
Well I've had my email for the may flights, but not the september one, even though I clicked on yes to transfer, oh well, long way off yet.
As someone pointed out, it does state we are only permitted the standard 20kg's, but I have a print out that said they would honour the BA allowance of 23kg's so I'm taking that with me.
Only a 15 minute difference in flight times too, so I can cope with that ( its silly oclock time to get up anyway..!!)
Hope everyone else gets sorted too.
Deb.
Im glad that things are at last moving in the right direction but as yet i still have'nt received my email. Iv tried phoning BA but the wait time is 45mins so i will have to try later but not sure what time they close the refund line.
Regards
Karen
The BA Website has the most detailed info... if you booked direct through BA you can get a refund direct from them. Otherwise, if, like me , you booked via an agent, you'll have to contact the agent/tour operator. I booked via Airmiles (but did not pay using Airmiles) and they tell me that I am in a (very long) queue, and will be contacted (by them) in due course. Which will be soon, I hope.
