thats really great cidermonster
I am going to have to be careful from today, otherwise I could find that I have either not lost weight or put some on.
Well done cidermonster and to all the other 'losers'
I seem to be stuck on a plateau - I know I shouldn't weigh myself at home but I do - have been stuck at the same weight for 12 days now so if this carries on I will maintain again which I know is better than putting on but I want to move towards my target - any suggestions?
I am having syns to keep me from 'binging'. Using milk for 2 'a' choices and some days using 1 or 2 'b' choices.
I think I should know start exercising - off this week so will get out and about - walking is a great one but need the lighter nights when I am working full time.
I know if I stick at the same weight I could lose the incentive and I don't want this to happen.
Any ideas/suggestions welcome.
Irene
Irene ... it's a tricky one, and not one i'm looking forward to either as i can see my weight loss starting to slow a bit, when i want to keep losing!!
Try to stick to what you have been eating, dont get despondent, and like you said, get out and do some exercise and that might just give you that little surge again - however, do remember that as you exercise, it will turn fat into muscle, and may end up keeping you on that plateau. Long term though, it if helps speed up the metabolism, that has to be a good thing. I go walking round the village at nights, maybe twice or three times a week, and i actually prefer doing it in winter as you don't come back all hot and sweaty from a walk on a cold night!!!
The whole exercise thing is tricky ... i want to get to a point where i can eat sensibly, but not starvation (!!), and where i can do a decent amount of exercise each week, but don't have to become an olympic athlete just to keep the weight off!! At the moment i'm trying to mix it up - at least one walk per week, a couple of 30 min swims, and 45 of five a side football ... i don't want to be doing much more than that to be honest
I too seem to be staying the same. As I went for yet another 40 min walk at 9am I thought that surely this must be having some effect ? Imagine if I wasn't walking..then what?? I can certainly see the difference in my shape. Especially legs and thighs but the scales are not budging. I maintained last week at SW and I would like to see 1lb off on Thursday otherwise it looks as if you aren't bothering. I know I'm not being 100% on the plan but I'm certainly not eating all those choccie bars I used to so by rights I should be going down? Oh well. I will just plod on and hope that all of a sudden my weight will drop.
I just need to see the weight coming off on the scales even though my clothes are not as tight!!!!
Hopefully while I am off this week I can plan ahead more and get more motivated. Just 2lbs will see me get my 1st stone award and be the lightest weight I have been since I joined SW last April.
Speak soon.
Irene
PS the sun is now beating down on Wirral after a foggy start!!!! Makes you feel so much better when you see the sun doesn't it?
Ha Ha.I was out walking in the fog this morning. I thought it meant it would be sunny later and I was right Not far from you Irene....European Capital of Culture !!
I will be in the city centre tomorrow. Meeting my mum for a spot of retail therapy. I used to work in Owen Owens in their travel department - TK Max now I think?
I used to live in Prescot - mum still there along with my sister. Small world.
Irene
hbrac ... just think of the effect that 40min walk will be having on turning fat into muscle ... might explain why you feel you are standing still, but you are still doing yourself a lot of good
I do feel good after I get back so at least my health must be improving even if the scales are stuck
This week I've started my food diary again just to see if writing things down shows where I'm going wrong, weighing everything as well as maybe I'm getting too complacent.
Maybe it's just harder too lose the weight when you get near target?
Have stared exercising as well. Anyway we will see what happens on Tues at weigh in.....
Keep going everyone- don't give up!!!
Good luck!!!
Denny
Dont be to down hearted about staying the same i know it feels like the end of the world and it is horrible (listen to me heads roll when i stay the same) Have you tried measuring for inch loss, You might just see the difference.
Irene i found that when i was having my 2 A sections the weight came off really slowly so i went back to one (thats all i have now)
The pasta n sauce that i use is either mild cheese and brocolli or spag bol.
Another recipe with the pasta n sauce i came by was by accident, My friend had phoned me just as i was about to have it as a snack (just boiled in the pan) While we were talking it went cold and i couldnt think how to heat it so i chopped some onion, mushrooms and garlic fried them in the wok with frylight when the wok was really hot i added the pasta until it browned ( keep turning it over cos it will stick) when the pasta is browned put on a plate and add 1oz of mature cheddar and bang in the mic for a min. Its lovely!!! and really tastes like a dish you shouldnt be eating on plan Let me know what you think
Keep your chin up girls. Oh one last thing is to make sure you weigh your A & B sections always cos you would be amazed at what guessing can do to your weight loss.
Cidermonster well done on your weigh loss thats brilliant!!
Kerrie
Yep..we sure are a load of losers in Liverpool
Well I've put two pound on, so now have to lose 21 instead of 19 in only 14 weeks. It was mams 70th birthday though so had to have some birthday cake.
good luck this week everyone
Sorry I abandoned ship, I just can't get into the right frame of mind at all. Lots of obstacles in my way, like 5 day trip to Benidorm, going away this weekend, crappy days at work etc etc!!
Excuses, excuses............. I know!!
I am at my heaviest at the mo', got to lose 1.5 stone.
CazzMickntom - last week is gone so hope you have a good week, I can never understand that if you eat say half a pound of choccies you put on more than that at weigh in????
Trasjohno - at least maintaintining isn't putting any weight on - think positive, happened to me last week.
Joolz - lovely to hear from you.
It is weigh in for me tonight so we will see. Not sure what to expect. Just had some weetabix with hot milk - so cold here today but lovely and bright and I am making some carrot and ginger soup for lunch.
Mind you after drinking half a bottle of wine yesterday (during the day) while shooppping in Liverpool. Mum and I were going to go for a coffee but then decided on a glass of wine £3.25 for a glass or £6.99 for a bottle - what was I supposed to do? : That took my whole days syn allowance. We sat discussing holidays which was really nice and after seeing all the lovely summer clothes starting to appear in the shops it makes you think ahead and what we need to do so that we look great in our summer clothes.
Have a good day everyone and I will let you now how I get on.
Irene
The sun is out so I will take a stroll after lunch. So much nicer when the sun is shining and thoughts turn to holidays
Myself, i've been counting calories, but i guess some of are following special dieting plans like weightwatchers, etc?
