Because I don't like finding I have run out of points /calories I prefer Slimming World. I suppose it's psychological. If you know you can keep eating free foods you don't want them. If you have reached your points limit you want more....or is it because I have no will power :rofl

Morning Everyone
Another lovely morning here - very frosty.
Up early as we are off shopping to Chester later and hopefully a lovely walk along the walls.
At weigh in last night (walked there and back only about 10 mins each way but it is something) I lost another 1lb :really was hoping for 2lb as that would have seen me reach my 1st stone loss - that is now my target for next week and then hopefully I can get my club 10 target by the end of the month/lst week in March????
Bought the new magazine - some lovely recipes in it. There is one for the carrot/ginger soup which was in a magazine last year replaces the celery with leek in this months one - I find celery is very good for making you wee ;)
Going to plan for the weeks ahead (menu wise) and then I know I have everything in.
Hbrac - I start the week with between 70 - 105 syns and then count down always seem to have some left doing it this way as if I add them up I always seemed to run out/use more. :que
Have a good week everyone and I will speak to the 'losers' soon.

Hi all  Its been a bit hit and miss this last two weeks. First my daughter was ill, then I caught her bugs and ended up feeling rotten. Not really eaten properly although have tried. Been reaching for the white bread and potatoes which as you know, on SW is a no-no!

Anyway, went to get weighed last night and I have managed to lose ½lb. Pretty chuffed with that as its still going in the right direction. Only 4lb more to reach my target of 4 stone. Unless I have a miracle this week, I wont reach that target within the year (19th February 2007 was my first weigh-in) but hopefully, it will only take a couple of extra weeks.

After thinking that we wouldnt get a holiday abroad this year, things are looking promising in that department too. We've made enquiries and a trip back to Menorca looks to be on the cards. I cant wait. Last time we went there, I was 4 stone heavier, the seatbelt on the plane barely fit me, I felt like a beached whale beside the pool and wouldnt come out from behind a huge sarong! I never thought that going to a slimming class would make such a difference to my life and I am so glad that I did it.

Well done on all the losses this week. Keep up the good work all.

Sarah :)

Good morning Folks

Well after the 2lb on disaster last week. I have stayed the same which I am not happy about at all :cry . I was hoping to at least lose the offending 2lb. I have stuck to the diet religiously even measuring milk and cereal. Consultant has giving me an SAS diary to fill in this week. I have my husband on the same food and he is losing weight every week

Was that upset when I left class I had a creme egg ;) which was within my sin allowance. I think I will start drinking again was losing weight fine while having a wee vodka :cheers

Good luck to everyone this week

Well, I weighed yesterday and I've stayed the same. Not too disappointed though, as I thought I might have gained this week. We went out for a meal with friends on Saturday and while my starter and main were reasonably good, my friend wanted a fondue for 2 for pudding and her husband didn't fancy it, so I helped her out. ;) All the different fruits were great, shame about the melted Toblerone that we were dipping them in :rofl
Well done to all you losers this week though! :tup
srhjnmgn even if you don't lose that last 4lb before the 19th, 4st in a year is absolutely amazing and you should be so proud of yourself and looking forward to baring all in Menorca! :cheers
Like Irene, I'm now off shopping in Chester. Not sure about walking along the walls though, but might pick up the pace between shops :)

Oh well, going to keep at it......

Well done everyone and keep at it.

We mustn't be too hard on ourselves peeps. The fact that we are still going to group despite gains, maintains and little losses shows that we have the right attitude. I know it's disheartening but sometimes it takes 3 weeks of staying the same despite our best efforts before we see a loss. I've no idea how the body works :que
I went out in sub zero temperatures this morning for my walk then to a Pilates class where I think I have strained my neck doing the lying down and reaching exersise :rofl
Weigh in tomorrow so let's see. I will be disappointed if I have maintained again but we will have to see what the scales show.

I wish I could stop the daily weighing. It puts too much pressure on you and a small gain is enough to make you miserable for the rest of the day.

I love Chester, so pretty. The last time we went was to Carl the piercer at Bodz !! :yikes

Well done to those who lost weight and to those who did not, keep on going.

I too didn't do well this week.

I have put on 1 1/2 lbs. I didn't want to stay in class because I was slimmer of the week last week and felt embarrassed. I did not want to sit there and explain why I was heavier than last week. Except for Saturday when I had a piece of liquorice (one of those 'Blacks' Australian slim soft sticks you buy in places like Holland and Barratt) and 1/2 a bottle of wine, I was very good; I wrote everything down and weighed my healthy extras and syns. There were days when I didn't have any syns at all.

So I felt really down earlier on, but now feel better. I will just have to push on with it.

My aim is to lose at least 2 lbs by next week.

There was a notice at the group today saying that the 2008 S.W. food directory is going to be delayed for a while. I use my 2007 one for syns or log onto the S.W. website. Speaking of which I find that site useful as I can keep my profile updated and use some of their recipes.

Hi everyone,
Sydney - know how you feel, last year I was up and down like a yoyo, since 2nd week in January I have not had a weight gain but I am sure it will come when I am least expecting it - keep smiling.
Hbrac - had a lovely day in Chester, walked about half of the wall, quite slowly as we had a bit of shopping to carry. Hope your neck is ok?
Sarh, Lynn and Sunaholic - everything you say I can relate to, I weighed myself this morning and have promised myself I will not weigh myself again until just before I go to class next Tuesday - like to know what to expect. :rofl
Called into Morrissons - they have the Shape lasting staisfaction youhurt on a BOGOF offer. :D
Speak soon everyone.

I am very pleased with myself because I have lost 11 lbs since new year, starting to feel a little better about myself and my work uniform is looser so I am trying to keep it up.
Har though sometimes as I love chocolate , I do have a little chocolate every couple of days , I don't believe in depriving yourself of everything you enjoy as I think you are more inclined to give up.
I still have a lot of weight to lose but I am determined to do it, enjoying this thread there are some good tips in there, love shirleyv

I think age is a factor. I have never struggled with my weight but have eaten sensibly for years. However over the last 2 years I have put on a stone which is incredibly difficult to budge. I lost 4 lbs in a week on the no carbs diet last year but as soon as I started eating them again, it went back on. Over the last fortnight however I have lost 5 lbs. In the morning I cut a fairly decent size bowl of fruit up, give it a squirt of lemon juice & a stir to stop it discolouring & pop it in the fridge. For breakfast I have a bowl of porridge which is exceptionally good for lowering cholesterol and I find that with a cup of coffee, this keeps me going till lunch. I then have a large helping of fruit from my bowl - toda'ys concoction is pears, mandarins, nectarines, bananas, and a mango. I pour a pot of Activia strawberry yoghurt over this and enjoy! ;) In the evening I eat a sensible meal. If I get hungry during the evening I either have more fruit or an alpen bar. It's going well so far so lets hope the weight keeps coming off!

Well just 0.5lb off this morning despite all my walking. It looks more as my stomach is alot flatter and my clothes looser so maybe it's inch loss.I'll keep going as I only have half a stone to lose now. It definitely is harder the older you are. Those pounds are sooo stubborn. :que

Hello Lindsay. That's pretty good going in 2 months. How much do you want to lose ?

Hi all
Well i only lost 0.5 this week :duh but i was looking in my book and i am hoping i can see a pattern (holding water) but its to early to tell yet really. ( this is what i am thinking anyway and i hope i am right :tup ) Thats 10lb in 5 weeks. I agree with the weight is harder to shift as we get older i could have lost a stone in 4-5 weeks when i was in my twentys but now nearly 36 it does seem to be coming off slower but never mind because it IS coming off slowly but surely :tup

Goodluck everyone

If you think 36 is" older" then I am positively geriatric 1! :rofl That accounts for why I am finding it harder than all you young things :D

Hbrac

I'm in the geriatric boat as well :D

When I was 36 I lost 3 stone as I didnt want to be fat and 40 which I was'nt

I am so depressed after reading the last few comments that I have had to open a bottle of wine to drown my sorrows :cry LOL I enjoy a bottle of wine which I open on a Friday night and it will last me until Sunday night 30 syns well used for me..........
We are only as old as we feel.......
Seriously I put my weight gain to not excersing properly after having my two lovely sons they are now 15 and 12 and eating!!!!!
I am now 46 and I know I won't get down to the weight I was 15 years ago but will be a lighter when I go on holiday this year. I also want to learn to swim properly, have no confidence if my feet don't touch the bottom so going to look at enrolling for adult swimming lessons and would like to look ok in my cossy!!!!! On holiday I look fine when lying on my sunbed it is just when I stand up and the last few years I have not always felt happy while walking to the pool etc.
Gosh I sound depressing........
On a positive not I have made a lovely vegetarian scouse for tonights meal and looking forward to it.
