Have tried unsuccessfully (I think) to book flights. Don't really care about the 1p. The only thing I get is when I click purchase is Cannot display website and just a blank screen saying Done. Anybody know if I have actually booked flights or not? Obviously no Booking ref. came up. Also, how long before confirmation email from RyanAir? Do they arrive immediately or should I wait until tomorrow before trying to book same flights again?
What on earth has gone wrong since the update, slow isn't the word for it.I can't get any further than entering flight details, and it's thinking about it and that's it. They must be losing a lot of sales this way.Hope it improves quickly as I always used to find it a very easy site to use before.Maggie
Hi maggiemae
I didn't like the way search results were displayed, checking the flexible dates box would only return flights available a couple of days either side of the specified dates. I used to like the site for the fact that it would display all flights between dates a couple of weeks apart, making it fairly easy to find the cheapest ones.
Expect a press conference Thursday from Ryanair - announcement of Edinburgh becoming next RYR base.
Using web check in, do the boarding cards have to be printed off in colour or doesn't it matter? My printer isn't working so have to use library for outward flights and colour is 50p per page but black&white is only 15p.
Black and White is fine.
Thanks. Though B&W would be ok but wanted to double check. Not looking forward to trip though. Going over for Nan's funeral . Using hand luggage only.
Sorry to hear that Cate. Take care. Hope trip not to stressful.
Ryanair again blames 'technical difficulties' for failure to show inclusive pricing on website
Ryanair has failed to comply with the Office of Fair Trading's pricing rules, despite promising to make the necessary changes to its website at the weekend.
The airline switched off its website over the weekend for technical reasons and said it would use the opportunity to make the switch to inclusive pricing.
But today it blamed technical problems for its failure to comply.
A spokesman for the OFT said Ryanair had informed it that it had completed the change over to its new website, but was currently "experiencing some technical difficulities".
"We are monitoring the situation closely," he added.
ABTA issued a statement criticising the low-cost airline.
"Ryanair has fobbed off the OFT for over a year with the excuse that they could not show clear, unambiguous prices on it website because they didn't have the technology," said Simon Bunce, ABTA's head of legal services.
"Clearly, despite working on their website all weekend, they still don't have the technology. Either that or they just don't care about how they deal with their customers.
"The OFT must have had its patience sorely tested by Ryanair and we would urge them to ensure that holidaymakers can trust the prices they are given so that they can make valid comparisons when choosing their travel arrangements."

And although the prices are higher than they used to be, they STILL don't include the tax and silly bits that Ryanair make their money from. PLUS you then get hammered for hold baggage etc when you have selected your flight and final insult is paying the per person per sector charge when it comes to waiving your plastic at them.
Wish they could be made to conform to what they should be doing by an organisation with teeth and legal might. Some hope I know ...........................
i was a bit cheesed off though at being charged 3 lots of cc charges -i wish when i was self employed that i could have got away with charging that much to accept plastic
I have a NatWest Maestro card which is a debit card but card dropdown list on payment page does not give any Maestro.
Does anyone know which one I should click to use Maestro instead of VISA?
Cic
Only way round it is to use credit card if you have one or maybe ask a friend if they could book it for you on their card and give them the money.
What happens if I can't do web check in due to system being down. Trip is going to be hard enough as it is without computer problems thrown in as well. Am planning on getting as much packing done tomorrow as possible.
Ryanair claims it has come into line with pricing...but ABTA disagrees
Ryanair claims it has finally complied with the Office of Fair Trading's pricing rules.
The airline says it is now showing prices inclusive of taxes, fees and charges on its website after making some changes at the weekend.
It switched off its website over the weekend for technical reasons and said it would use the opportunity to make the switch to inclusive pricing.
But it said due to "bedding problems" it was only able to bring its pricing in line from today.
But a spokeswoman for ABTA said advertised prices are still not inclusive.
"It's not until you've selected your actual flight that you see the inclusive price," she said. "We don't believe this is in line with the OFT's guidelines."
Meanwhile, Ryanair has apologised to customers for technical glitches which have temporarily reduced access.
Head of communications Peter Sherrard said: "We are continuing to make significant progress with the cut over to the New Skies system.
"However, we expect further bedding down problems over the next day or two and we ask all passengers to be patient with us, as we complete the largest ever software changeover undertaken by any airline, anywhere in the world."

cate .. when the reservations system was down for a prolonged period last weekend, passengers unable to check in online were able to do so at the airport at no extra charge. However, that is unlikely to apply when the system is just slow or difficult to access, as opposed to being temporarily offline.

I don't want any nasty surprises, this trip is going to be hard enough as it is.
If I can get my printer to work, would I be able to do web check in for a flight at 11.55 tuesday at 0100 sunday? I'm thinking no as it'll be more than 48 hours?
cate ... with the system upgrade, online check-in is now extended to 5 days before travel, with check-in for outward and return flights possible at the same time.
