This is my first post on this forum have never posted anything before! Hoping you may be able to help ease my mind.
I am flying out to the Algarve on the 1st of may and have heard that this is a public holiday on this day. Just wondering what will be affected by this? We are going self catering so will need to eat and dont wanna arrive and everything be closed!
Bars and restaurants will be open but a lot of the shops especially the larger supermarkets will either close at 1pm or not be open at all. As in UK, things vary!
In Albufeira for example many of the food shops will stay open all day but where I live (just outside) they will not open at all.
You should be OK.
