It looks terrific, i just need it sunny enough to want to have to have a dip when I'm there
Adam, what's the weather like at the moment?
The weather has been warm and sunny, and is forecast to be the same for at least the next few days.
Cheers
Adam
Hi I too have seen the Photos, looks brill,
Don't know about the rooms, but when you first enter you will be wowed.
Enjoy your holidays everyone.
staying at the Guadalupe now, absolutely fantastic, better than ever.
As you walk in the reception it looks fantastic, really modern, all new furniture and fittings, for anybody returning to the hotel it takes a couple of minutes to get your bearings as to where everything was before.
The reastaurant and food is unchanged, still very good, the side where they had the Italian theme is now a lunch area where you can get a light meal and snacks etc from 12.00 to 4.00pm.
The pool area is out of this world, fantastic shape, snaking around the outside of the building, the only downside was that it was freezing, but hey thats the weather not the fault of the hotel.
The poolside bar is brand new, all black marble and black high chairs around the bar and tables.
The sun loungers and poolside tables and chairs are also all brand new and "look" to be made of wood although they are in fact plastic, but what the hell they look good in the pictures.
We went the same week last year and the weather was fantastic, not so this time around unfortunately, it seemed to be nice one day and cool the next, lots of cloud, with the sun coming through every now and again.
The bedrooms are still the same, if you have not stayed before, they are a decent size and tended to by the cleaning staff every day, towels changed daily, no complaints at all.
The nightlife is still the same at this time of year, busy at the Guadalupe "end" with people of a certain age (like me), Piano Bar, Britannia and the Plaza (Get your white clothes on for visits to these places, as you glow under the purple light thingy, you know what I mean)
Prices of drinks vary from place to place, but generally the rule is if you buy 2 drinks (e.g. 2 x Becks) it would cost 5 Euros, but if you buy 1 it was 3.50€
2 x Smirnoff Ice for 6-7€.
The price of a pint varied from 0.95cents (Bo Selector yesterday) up to about 2.25€
Please go and see the Queen looky likey band at Manos when they are on, they sound brilliant and it's a great show.
If there is anything anyone wants to know, please feel free to ask.
Some Friends are due to stay at the Guadalupe in October and want to know if the rooms have tea/coffee making facilities. The description of the hotel says it has a self service kitchenette but I wondered if each room had individual facilities.
Merged with existing topic which may have some information. There is an email address on Page 1 where you may wish to ask the hotel direct.
there are not tea making facilities in the rooms but we took a travel kettle and hired a fridge, the missus needs her cuppa, your friends will have a great time its a great hotel

I have just got back from the Guadalupe, Breakfast is 8.30 -10.30

thaks for the info.my wife and i are taking our 3 year old grand-daughter and are really looking forward to staying at the sol guadalupe after reading all of the favourable reviews.stayed at the majorca beach last time but was more expensive to go there this time and it seems guadalupe is lot better.do all rooms have a hair dryer(for wife not me ha)
Hi , Yes the rooms do have a hairdryer, they have been put in this year ,
thanks scouse mags.did you have a good stay.im expecting it to be really busy in july.the pictures i have seen of the hotel look fantastic.i have read the childrens pools have animated slides which im sure my grand-daughter will enjoy,we have a struggle to get her out of the water.
We had a great time, the weather was the best it's ever been in May, so we could take advantage of the pool, which is fab. I might even return in October, for a few days
Hi staying at the sol guadalupe for 14nights from the 7th july does anyone know if the hotel has a dress code for men for evening meal or would knee length shorts and a smart t-shirt be ok? Also do the childrens pools get the sun all day and presuming its going to be busy what time is best to be up to reserve sun beds? and we have 3 rooms booked 1 being a single for my mam are these rooms ok and have they got a balcony ect. thanks for any replies in advance.
hia gypsy123 ive been to the hotel quite a few times in the past few years, i.ll try an answer a few of your questions - the childrens pool was part of the major refurbisment last year and looks fantastic it does get the sun but i think there is shaded parts around the pool, dress code gents can wear smart shorts for dinner, but not beachwear type if you know what i mean, the sunbeds, yeah people do reserve them but there are loads and weve never had a problem going out before we go in for breakfast and getting a bed, we.re staying at the hotel on the 13th to 23rd july so dont take my sunbeds
