My dad still insists on wearing his socks with his sandals
don't have that problem.. don't ware Jesus creepers and haven't since school, never liked them.. Not even in the 60's with my hippy gear would i wear them
If she saw me at home she would die. I live in a retirement property and could easily be taken for someone's cleaner. Jeans blouse etc and always running either the bins or to do my laundry. Likewise those who live here would not recognise me on holiday.
When I go out I change of course but nothing like my swanning around those ships.
MUST get my TIARA out as I am going shopping!! Keep it all coming Girls.
Yes my husband insisted on wearing socks with sandals and also he did something quite peculiar in tucking his pyjama top into the trousers. Hankie in the pocket I think he did this from when he was a child!! Old habits die hard.
Sue
This afternoon he went out in 3/4length trousers with socks and trainers. I told him he looked awful, did it bother him, he couldn't care less.
I don't like to see women who tightly tuck their blouses into their skirts - especially if the skirts are up under their bosoms.
I do tuck things in if they are meant to be but then I am a size 8-10. Not saying I don't have a tum it is just a bit further down than those ladies!! I do prefer what tum I have to be covered and today when I look I have a wrap cardi on with a vest top underneath. That's just because I live and Harrogate and had to leave the Jeans etc at home.
You never know who I might meet!!
Sue
My other half tucks his shirt in his pants and his pyjama top into his pyjama bottoms. Not a pretty sight.
What is it with men and tucking in ?!!
we dont have GIRDLES to hold everything in
I live alone and if people could just hear me right now they would think I was off my head. It was "What it with all this tucking in" that did it. I then scrolled up to find the girdle comment. Best laugh I have all week!
What everyone has said is so true. We all have the primark chic look which isn't really very chic at all. lol
Ladies at least we no we are not alone!!
I now chose my restaurants more carefully
Also my OH always complains that we need a pack horse to take our paraphenalia to the pool every day.Chic europeans seem to just have a book and some shades.I take water ,sun lotions, towels (2 as one doesn't cover the sunbed, must look into the ITSA!) hat,shades,water,book,magazine,mp3 player, inflatable cushion,lilo..............
What a great thread,It has really made me laugh
However, I do not think that is enough to negate the Winnie the Pooh beachtowel.
Whaddya reckon?
.My sunbed area will look slightly more euro chic this year because I have go Ambre Solaire suntan lotions
I always have ambre solaire lotion but still never manage the neat clean bottle in the chic pouch look .I seem to end up with various dented and squashed messy bottles scattered under various sun lounges .I do have a pouch thing ( well actually it one of those old zip up things that your christmas smellies come in) but the bottles never seem to be in it . why is that??

My sun lotions go in a Tesco carrier bag which then goes inside my beach bag - the Tesco bag stops the creams leaking all over the inside of my bag and on my purse, magazines, camera etc. However once we're down at the pool I usually end up taking the Tesco bag out and knotting the handles around the armrests on the sunlounger so I can leave the kids with suncream to be safe while I go off for a walk round the resort. If I have a spare carrier bag I'll pop our magazines in it and knot that around the other armrest (keeps them off the wet floor...)
So our sunbeds look really chic with Tesco bags tied around them
why do i always get sand in my sun tan lotion???????????...why oh why!! no matter how try i always have it all over the bottle and at the opening of it...which...when you come to put it on and your skin sometimes a little delicate...."exfoliating" isnt a good idea..ouch!!! and...talking of sand....i hate wet sand inbetween my toes!!!!
All that has been written by you guys you would think that you all knew me personally
How sad am i. I was so excited to read sma's post on how to tie a sarong that i have printed it off. So off i goes up the stairs to find my sarong, armed with my piece of paper. Guess what........ they are either left in the case in loft or i have given them away to the charity shop in discust because year in year out i take them away and dont wear them because i CANT DO IT! i watch the ladies who have them on and look beautiful by the way ( oh and english) and i look like i have layed it on the bed and rolled around on it for a while. Now i am going to have to buy a new one just to see if i can do it with instructions from sma.
By the way it seems a lot of you shop in tesco
Kerrie

The towel is fantastic, everything to hand and not in the sand.

Have been known to plonk myself on many an unsuspecting persons towel in the past
