Just to show what good value the hemera is just checked for A/I in majorca and 3* hotels are more expensive, the 3* A/I in majorca are not the best in the world. Might be worth you biting the bullet and paying the extra for the hemera. You won't get better value. Have you looked at thomson and portland, last year portland were dirt cheap but not this year. child price to 14.

Just check portland no family rooms.

Thanks for the replies re: my post.

I know the kids facilities won't be as good as Lykia, don't think we can really better thoses, but it's just coming out to pricey for nexy year :-( so am looking at other options. The Hemera seems to get good reviews but was just wondering if there would be enough there for the kids.

Thanks for the link lynnwestie, I had already checked that out but it doesn't say too much about the clubs. Back to my list then.....

hi all we got back from the hemera on monday 19th and its getting better , there are chillout areas on the lawns down towards the beach and a few more slides and a trampoline near the kids club for the little ones. only turgay and ali remain from the main animation but they did say robin would have been back sometime this week as hes been away helping his brother .one word of warning though but i must say this

On 23rd May 2008, the Oxyd Nightclub, which is located 150 meters from the Hemera and the Hotel Sunrise Queen, opened its doors for the season. The night was shattered by Rave music on till 04.00 am, from 04.00 - 05.00 am, it was the sound of Taxi's. The club operates Wed - Sat.

sorry but pre warned is pre armed this quote is from someone i met while i was there and they stayed on another week so had the noise first hand , and there room was near the lobby bar so it was quite far away from the nightclub . and there are a lot of rooms really a lot closer to the noise . hope this helps people who are going so that they can maybe get the furthest rooms away from the noise.

even so i have just booked for next year . good deal i think £1086 for 2 of us for 2 weeks from our local airport east midlands.. :cheers :cheers

Thanks for your report davidstoncold....

Your right better to be warned, I was a happy bunny but now Im not so happy, with the news of the rave music...... til 4 am, and then the taxi noise too ?

I hope we are located a room far away from the noise.

What was the temp like during the day and night time ? Also you say extra slides, do you mean for the pool or slides for a playground?

Thanks again Davidstoncold, I did think you ment near playground, but my 11 yr old got exicted for bigger water slides......so thought I'd nip her thoughts in the bud now by asking you .... thanks again

Toda I received a call from T/cook as tickets had arrived and I now have collected our tickets...... :D

Gave a little mention of the oxyd raveto the memeber of staff, who knew the area very well, and she has faxed over to the hotel my concerns about the noise....and requested a room away from it.....not sure this will happen or indeed if this is possible, but hope it helps somewhat.....we have a family room booked so where abouts these are within the complex I dont know.....

The noise is worrying. I wish the noise bit was posted a week earlier. it could me a change of hotel for us. I will have to wait and see how mthe reviews come. I thought in turkey all the bars and night clubs had to turn the music down at 12 am.

Im very grateful to Davidstoncold for his honesty in letting us know about the noise from the Oxyd.

When I went into Thomas Cook yesterday, they lady I spoke to knew the area very well, and so could not believe it, they had already faxed hotel, and she as sent up a reminder fax to remind the Hemera afew days prior to our holiday, of our wish to be away from the noise.

But to say Im gutted to hear about the noise is an understatement, I've been wanting to go to this hotel for the past few years after hearing personal excellent reports..... and booked up end of last August, to hear this with only 3 weeks to go has put a big downer on the holiday for me, and Im not there yet !

We will go, and see what happens, and if it does get as bad as reported then I'll ask to move hotels...
Hopefully, we'll be ok, and that wont be the case.

Of course on return from our holidays (4th July) I'll report how our holiday went, and noise etc.......

dont let this put a downer on the hoilday , at least when you get there you at least have reported the noise to the travel agents so you have ammunitition if it gets too bad , if i find a cheap deal for the begining of july i will book it again but ill just have a few more drinks before going to bed. :cheers :cheers
