One of the oldest buildings in the Costa Blanca and one of the most emblematic religious buildings built by the Benidormeneses between 1740 and 1780.
It re-opened its doors last month after eight months of intensive work to give the building a facelift.
The restoration which cost 900,000 euros have resulted in a profound change to the interior, new colours which are trying to recover the original decoration of this "modest" church, plus improved lighting in the main nave and side altars, a new air conditioning system and windows have been installed.
The internal reform is the second phase of an ambitious project, which began with the renovation of the exterior of the building and now with the completion of the interior, there remains one final phase, to paint all the external walls and install outdoor lighting to enhance the church.
Having been in the church many times before the restoration, all I can say is.....
Just beautiful, there's no other word to describe it.
