August = hot, hot, hot!!

We were there at the beginning of August last year and had a couple of days that were 50+ degrees. Don't worry too much though as there are plenty of shaded areas and there seems to be a gentle breeze off the sea most of the time. The indoor pool is a nice spot to cool off if needed

thanks not going to worry as its a bit late now anyway lol. can anyone tell me if there is a launderette and if they take washing powder or tablets thanks.

hi from what we saw after the wedding you get taken to 1 of the al lacart restaurants which u choose may be a charge no sure. the local photographer will come along and take loads of photos which u can see at the shop once developed and they will do an album for you. from what we saw they wait on you hand and foot and the comments we heard from wedding guests say that it was fantastic how they were treated. hope this helps

There is plenty of choice of food. Breakfast-cereals,toast,fruit,yogurt,cooked breakfast,omletes,eggs,ect
Lunch from snack bars-toasties,hotdogs,burgers,chicken nuggets,chips,pizza,pastas, jacket potatoes,salad,fruit
You can get other things in restaurant.
Evening meal-soup,salad,lasagne,pastas,steaks,various meats,veg,rice,various potatoes,chips,lots of desserts,icecream and lots more

The best alacarte was the Turkish. We had lamb shank and it was lovely

Thanks i know im worrying a little bit now. few questions is it one whole site or are there two sides. if so where is the best to stay also is there only one restaurant for food etc and how many times in two weeks could you visit the italian etc. also is there hairdryers in the room and a laundrette on site. one main worry is the parasol situation thinking about taking one of our own has anyone else done this as my partner would get up in the morning to get one but then you have to leave to get breakfast so I heard people take them if your not about i cant do 50 degrees with no shade. also anyone going on the 7th i mean this year lots of laughs.

if you are going for 2 weeks you will be able to visit the italian twice ,also the same with the other ala cartes.we went in june last year ,we didnt need a parasol as our kids are older but we wouldnt have been able to get one anyway,there didnt seem to be any left so if you can take one i definetely would,especially if youre going in august,you will have a brilliant time there it is lovely

It is 1 big complex but to make it easier it has been divided into 2 sides for main buffet meals. If you are on pegasus side you will have a blue wrist band and if you are on tropical side you will have an orange wrist band, this also applies to kids clubs aswell, to avoid overcrowding . Apart from that you can use all facilities. There is a main buffet restaurant on each side, kids clubs on each side and there is an amphetheatre on each side ,so if you miss a show on one side you'll have chance to see it on other side. There are snack bars on both sides which you can use any. If it is really busy I would try the snack bars near the beach as they were alot quiter when we went in June.

We were allowed 1 visit to each alacarte restaurant per stay, so whether you were ther 1 or 2 weeks you could only visit once. Like I said before the Turkish one was by far the best.

The kids buffet was between 6pm-7pm in upstairs terrace in blue buffet restaurant, don't know about orange side but I assume it to be the same.

The soccer school was in middle of complex and the high ropes were on blue side. We never struggled to get parasol but it wasn't as busy as it will be now. There are large areas which are covered by big sun canopies so there is always somewhere to get out of the sun. There is about 15 pools in the complex so plenty to go at

On the blue side there is a games room near buffet restaurant where there are pool tables, computers, arcade machines and a 4 lane tenpin bowing alley (a proper one aswell) which is about £4 per person for a game.

You can have clothes cleaned through the laundry service, you'll find a bag in wardrobe with a price list. There are no facilities for you to wash clothes yourself unless you wash them in bath. Another tip, there is not a lot of storage space for clothes so take plenty of coat hangers with you as there is plenty of hanging space but not many coat hangers. Theres plenty of space to put your suitcases, under table and dressing table, so I kept the kids shorts and t-shirts in case as I can't stand a messy room on holiday I took a trvel washing line aswell as some rooms have a clothes hanger outside but some don't.

You don't need to take beach towels as these are provided daily with a towel card.

I am most annoyed we dont get to the holiday village at 6.30 am on first day but as we fly at 22.45 the previous day they class that as a night of your accomodation, i will have to be out of accomodation at 11am and not getting picked up til 3.00 am following morning anyone else experienced this. tried late check out but they are fully booked.

You should be able to book late check out when you get to hotel. They have 3 different prices for times. ink 12am was the latest you could check out. You probably better trying to keep it till 6pm and then you can t ready to go out that night as if you pay till midnight you not going to be in room anyway.

ok thanks for all tips . just a couple of questions.
1. how much money should i take and would that be lira or sterling?

2. should i be worried about mozzies?

3. where is the entertainment in the night?

re mozzies, i was bitten like mad, took loads of stuff with me but no antihistamine cream so scratched them to peices and ended up on antibiotics, but hubby and kids were ok.the best mozzie repellant was simkoff the local one. unfortunately the turkey holiday village was built next to a nature reserve so loads of the blighters, but i think i was just unlucky.weve just returned from the caribbean hol village had a couple of bites but took antihistamines creams with me so they didnt bother me at all. we took a thousand pounds spending money but went on 3 trips and ate out a few times in town,but im sure alot of peple may spend alot less.

We spent about £400 for 2 weeks and that was for 2 adults and 3 kids. we ate out a few times and went on a couple of trips and £22 was spent on 3 happy meals at Dalaman airport yes beware.

We took £200 lira and rest in sterling. If you save lira for taxis ect jt take sterling as they give you a better exchange rate.

I got bit about 4 times but 2 of them swelled up quite big, so take some antihistimines and cream as doctor will charge £100 for antihistimine injection and all it does is take swelling down quicker. Mine went down in couple of days. 2 of my bites were through day so spray insect rep on a morning aswell. We took autan spray but bought some Sinkov from village.

sorry to be a pain but can i buy this spray from the shop onsite as soon as i go and is it safe for the kids. not really bothered about myself but i would hate for the kids to be bitten .

You can get the Sinkov spray from shop onsite but don't know what price will be like as it is quite expensive. I paid 3 lira from village shop. It doesn't smell horrid like most other sprays. Don't know about younger kids if you can use it on them. I have to be careful with my youngests skin has he gets slight excema so I used mozzie guard I think it was called. The younger the children are the less likely they are to get bit as they give of a different scent. My 3 year old didn't get one bite but my 12 year old got quite a few. We noticed that we were getting most of bites through day and most people don't think to spray then.

We had our injections for Egypt last year so we had a hepetitis booster so it will now last for 20 years. I know diptheria is a new one thats recommended for Turkey now. This jab comes in the tetanus, polio jab. Check with your doctors as they should be free anyway. You may need hepatis A, typhoid, and diptheria/tetanus.

LIZZYJOB: Have you been to hv red sea? If so how does it compare with Turkey hv? We went to red sea this may and had a fantastic time. We are going back next may but just wondered which you thought was better?

We had a great time at HV Red sea, but had a few probs with it being just opened. The kids enjoyed HV Turkey better as there is more pools, waterslides, bars, snackbars. We didn't have one problem whatsoever in Turkey and I did like the Turkish people alot better, so I'd say overall we enjoyed HV Turkey the best. it is alot bigger resort, We went end of May and it was not too busy. Don't think I'd like it in high season cos think it would be too busy

Hello there, can anyone tell me the name of the lager they serve. We went to Turkey a few years back and the lager was Efes, which my husband couldn't drink!
I really fancy the HV in turkey but my hubby won't go if he can't enjoy his lager!!! BLESS HIM!
