I agree, we prefer blue side, it did seem bigger and there was more open space to get away from hustle and bustle.
Jo
Do you think if I e-mail the hotel I could ask for a room on the blue side?
It does sound like the better side.
Does anyone have the e-mail address for the hotel...cheers!!
Found this email address earlier in this topic
Also does any one who's just returned know how much are they charging this year for a lilo, i'm sure they wanted £25 the last time we went so i might just have to squeeze it in the case !! and what time do i need to get up for sunbeds.....
Hope you have a fab time and please come on line and tell us all about it when you get home
As a guide, we took £600 spending money with us last year. We did one trip which was the 9 Island boat trip and went to the Sunday Market twice. We came home with about £150. I would have had a lot more if it wasn't for the bags, watches a t-shirts we bought at the market. Apart from that we were hotel based for the two weeks.
As for the cost of the lilo, well I don't think it was as much as £25. We bought a large donut style rubber ring and that was about £10 from what I recall.
The bingo was cheaper to pay in Lira, but they took both last year and thanks to the selfish, SELFISH families that hogged two sunbeds each all day (one in the sun one in the shade) I was up at 07:00 each day to grab a couple of beds for us and the kids. There really is no need for people to be so greedy. And we apparently accuse the Germans for doing that when it's us Brits that are the worst.
Hi....thanks Duncan / Dolly ...we were thinking around £500, Im always up about 630am but find it embarassing going out to grab sunbeds....but if needs must !! Only one more sleep....
The thing is, the hotel needs only to lock the sunbeds up until 9:00 each day and sunbed hogging will be a thing of the past.
We fly out next Thursday for 2 weeks - got a junior jazuzzi suite booked. I was thinking about that sort of money - mainly sterling and say £100 in lira. We hoping to do the mud baths trip and for us all to have turkish baths etc but not at the hotel.
Sounds like a pain re the sunbeds as you have to get up early and then stay with them - but you need the shade for when the kids arent in the pool (which will be most the time anyway!!).
I have book my son (11) for the soccer school and i think both kids may do the high ropes and raft building etc.
Does anyone know how you decide which days you choose for the soccer school. I have booked son in for 4 day (2 hr sessions) what times are they - who do you book in with - i really dont want to have to waste my time sitting through the welcome meeting!!
A holiday is what you make of it !! We are taking inflatables/ sun cream and mossie spray with us.

Re the lilo's. We didn't actually buy any but came home with about 5!! Lots of people buy them for their kids and then just leave them around the pool on their last day instead of taking them home with them. If you are lucky enough you can just pick them up from around the pool in the evenings and then use them as your own
We are a family of 2 adults, 3 kids and we took £700 with us for 2 weeks which was plenty. We did the jeep safari trip and turkish bath with Sarigerme Tours (FC were way more expensive) and went to the market and spent a day at Sarigerme beach where obviously we had to pay for food/drink/ice creams. This was ample money and we spent what we had left on the last day on some Prada sunglasses for me (real of course ) and a "genuine fake" Breitling watch for my husband while waiting for the coach to go to the airport.
Enjoy! We're off to Aqua Fantasy in 2 weeks!
I was there in the first year and one morning got up about 8 o'clock with my towels and book and went out to get some beds. Found 3 in a spot by the wedding gazebo pool, put my towels on them and was just opening my book when a lady came across and actually said "what are you doing? You are in my place!!!!!" I explained that she didn't own anything and I would damn well sit where I like and she promised to go and get her husband to sort it. "Go on then" I said but he never turned up and I never saw her sat in that place again.
this may sound like a daft question but how much does a mc donalds cost at dalaman airport? i know its really expensive but thought i'd be prepared this time as didnt have enough last time and the kids really fancied one and we were delayed which made it worse! we paid approx £3 for small bottle of water!!!
Does anyone know if that's correct? Also I'm going on 29th September to HV can anyone say what the weather will be like, any rain likely??
Cheers
My question is does anyone know of any other drops etc to take in case the kids ears do become infected. Dont really want to pay the doctor a large fee if there is something we can take - heard garlic oil quite good
Thanks
my 2 girls both got ear infections last time we went so this year we have been advised to use ear bandits which are special headbands that cover the ears and stop water going in, this are quite expensive but i found a website that do them cheaper and mothercare do a cheaper version
You will have to pay a doctor but will get it refunded less your excess when you come home and claim through your insurance. My bill was a couple of hundred pounds if I remember which I paid on my credit card and it was refunded by fortis within a forthnight on my return. Just make sure you keep all the receipts and doctors reports. The Doctors when we were there were fantastic and the surgery like a mini clinic, I was on a drip for 12 hours. My son always used to suffer with ear problems abroad normally about 4-5 days in. Our dr in the Uk said he had ear wax but wouldn't syringe it and just gave him drops. The dr at PP took 1 look inside, put 2 drops in and asked me to return in 24 hours which we did. She asked him to be still and quick as flash put some long tweezers in and pulled out what looked like a small stone (hard wax.). He hasn't suffered once since (3 years ago now) and I can only thank the Turkish dr for that. She couldn't believe our GP hadn't sorted it sooner.
hi barnio, can you remember how expensive the mcdonalds is at dalaman airport?
