Great deals on here once again, thanks for posting, I am looking for deal for October, so will check on Tuesday, just for two of us, and Hamrag if possible could you pm me with details of how to get from airport in Rome etc and could anyone recommend a place to stay (not to expensive) if we go day before cruise?
Thanks
The prices I put up are direct from RCCL so agents might discount them abit
you do have to add tax on top I think
they should be listed on http://www.cruisecenter.com/promos/?PromoID=166 by tomorrow under LIMITED TIME OFFERS

Magsdon, thought I would just post generally, as this may be of some help to others also.
We flew to Ciampino airport with Ryanair from Glasgow Prestwick, and took the terravision shuttle bus service from the airport into Rome at a very reasonable cost. When you exit the airport terminal you walk to the left and will see the bus stop. Terravision have a website. In Rome the stop is right next to the Terminii rail station, which you will use to go to the port, Civitavecchia. Cost of rail ticket is less than 10 euros, and journey takes an hour and a quarter or thereabouts. Service is normally half hourly, but you need to watch if a Sunday as trains less frequent. When you get to Civitavecchia take a taxi to your ship, less than a 5 minute ride.
We chose a budget hotel near the rail station in the Marsala-Terminii area. Cannot remember its name, it was very basic, included basic and very nice continental brekkie, but functional and we would definitely use it next time as it was only 100 metres or so from the bus stop. (If the memory cells engage I will edit this and name it for you....memory now engaged, hotel luciani). Go into a website such as venere.com and select a hotel, using the map to see how close to the station you are. The budget hotels are much of a muchness and, for us, it was simply a matter of laying down heads so weren't too concerned about quality etc. The hotel provided just that, but not much more. You really need to spend big bucks to get high quality and even then we got friendly with a couple who had used the 4 star hotel immediately across from the Terravision bus drop point, and it was far from high quality. My advice would be go for convenience to rail station and pay less attention to the quality of hotel, which you will only be sleeping in anyway. The main thing is ease of access to rail station in the morning.
If you go for the Luciani...when you get off the bus, cross the road and walk right, the street the hotel is located is 2nd left.
Wow Hamrag thank you so much, such detailed info, thanks for taking the time, just need a cruise now!

We're already booked on NCL Jade on 16 Jan, but we've got some friends looking to come too.
One double cabin and one single cabin needed. Both insides, preferably Cat J or above, but would take lower at a really good price.
Best option at the moment is the deal you know about, £549(K) or £589(J) inc service charges, flights and one night in BCN. And the same place is £959 for any inside single.
If anyone comes across anything better, either with or without flights, I'd be grateful if you could let me know.
Thanks
Ian.
At the low grades every one is around the same prices, not seen a singles deal for any Jade trip yet.
Cruise1st and Cruise365 are doing ok package deals for these trips.
What it might be worth them pricing up through 365 is an AB or an A3 suite which have 2 seperate bedrooms, so no single sup for the 3pax but the 1-2 are more expensive(£1199).

I think all in they could do an A3 for <£2700 which is a courtyard villa for £650 more between them than the 2 insides
LOTS of perks private pool butler in room dining etc, spoilt for life.
A3 cabin http://www.nclsuitesandvillas.com/Portals/1/Skins/main/images/floorplans/Courtyard_Villa.jpg
rest of the info,

An AB(same as an A3 in shape) should be a bit cheaper and still have a lot of the perks but if the A3 is not a lot more thats the one to go for.
Would be very interested in that Royal Caribbean deal for 10th Sept Mandy - could you tell me who to contact please? Do you mean it can only be booked on the 19th August?
You could call Vacationstogo http://www.vacationstogo.com 0800 279 8084 they should be able to do the deal but you will have to tell them its on happy hour/sales event
If you have trouble getting them to locate the deal I will post the proper code Tuesday if needed but they should beable to find it
Or use cruisecompete on tuesday but remeber its american time so if you send it off early you wont get quotes back till after mid day you have till 10.59pm (US time) to book it
Checked out Ryanair flights for Rome (Ciampino) return from Glasgow Prestwick on 9 September. Cost is £85 return, and if you stayed on an extra day post-cruise also the return fare is only £65. Presumably cost from other UK airports is similar.
Just checking my Millennium cruise prices and they are selling cruise only for 14 nights £468 inside ocean view £545 and balcony £645 all guarantee just a pity the air fare is so high as for 14 night this is fantastic pricing. My Balcony 2A has lost the over 55's discount and is cruise only for single £2825 without adding tax or fuel supplement. Oh these prices will be the same.
I had a quick look and could not find the exact dates, I know it later in the year and AUS/NZ which explains the flight prices.
These are not cheap to start with but are fantastic trips and the low/no single sups make them a good deal for Solo cruisers that have the time(money) for the longer trips.
Here is the one that caught my eye, discounts through TA's.

I paid £1199 for my flights with Singapore Airlines but this included £200 for a one way flight with Qantas from Sydney to Perth. My flight also included a stopover in Singapore which would have incurred some tax addition.
Flight then would have been under £1k I am not flying back until the 12th January but had I been flying back on the 7th Dec. would have cost less.
Had my flight been flexible and not having the stopover hotels etc booked I would have been tempted to go out early and do a BTB.
A lot of offers in the post yesterday with 1st4cruising.
Celebrity 25th November Century 10 nights £679
" 1st November 14 nights Summit £989 15th Nov. 14night £849
RCI 13th Nov £759 Brilliance of the Seas.
NCL Jade 12th Dec 9n Canaries £459 including flights
Offers they have in the Daily Mail MSC Orchestra 7 nights 31st August £439
Gill Cruise have the Brilliance for 13th Nov.£699
The offers just keep coming and they will continue over the winter I feel sure. With NCL RCI and others keeping Ships in Europe this is good news for Cruisers.
Keep watching. Me too tied up with what I have already committed to and am spending a lot of money on my upcoming cruise esp NZ/OZ so won't be thinking of anything else at the moment. I would be looking at Cunard for the QM2 or the QV. My horizons are narrower due to this but it means I get what I am looking for. Things may change of course.
Sue
Virgin have a sale and prices for Sydney flights £795,
AI Christmas cruise £599
The deals are still available for the Jade winter cruises and cruise365 have the best prices for anything in the suites.
Booked a courtyard villa for four of us in Jan, works out at around £3500 total cruise only for the 12nights.
For 2 persons the villa would be around £2500.
For two people there are still some great prices for the AA owners suites allthough I think some of the 9n dates are now taken.
The 12/12/08 trip is filling up from the bottom, insides have gone up a lot on NCL site and there are not many left but a TA might still have some.
Now need to find something for the rest of 2008.
365 are £1399 each
TravelMandy wrote:WJ who you getting the £2500 from for a courtyard
365 are £1399 each
365 cruise only 4 Jan, we have complications on flights so was easier than taking the package.
If you want the package I think you are looking at £1399+ min. thats a flight hotel and tips so still good value.
These prices are very good, so trying to squeeze a few £ may not work.
NCL UK and US are a lot more so even the regular US TA's cannot get close.
We had decided this was OK so just booked rather than Squeeze.
My gut felling is these prices may not be around for much longer, they have not sold as well as I thought they would so NCL need to make other plans to offload the cabins, reducing the mainline prices that everyone uses is the next option but they will still be higher than these.
Could be some last minute deals but NCL do like to protect the "premium" so tend to upsell rather than discount.
The down side of booking this grade is there is only one upgrade path if the last minute shuffle happens at least with a lower grade you have a better chance of upgrades.
There is little point in booking anything below this A3, AB is more expensive and the cheapest regular penthouse suite is an AD at around £1kpp next down are the minis at around £900.
AA(with courtyard access) is still the best deal for 2 but there is that walk to make use of the facility.
Thanks WJ I misread and didnt see the cruise only bit
RSALE03 just incase any agent cant locate those prices
Just a thank you to say following threads here and on another site gave us enough details to sit and watch prices for the school holidays and jump when the price was right. We are now back from a lovely two week break and look forward to another cruise in the not too distant future.
