The courtyard will be great for dining with the kids tucked up in bed(or with you) with the bedroom door just feet away.
The others should be fine, as long as the solo gets out and about early to get some seperate company if needed, the small room is well secluded from the main room so can be treated as two cabins if needed, loads of space to chill in and around this area
With these suites you get a phone that works anywhere on the ship so if you are happy one of the friends could watch over and give you a call if needed if you wanted the romantic night. Cagnies is only one deck down below these suites so <1min back to the cabin. I am sure you will be able to get some "adult" time a lot of the crew love having little ones around so should be no problem, the small main dinning room has a section well away from the rest we like to eat there and it would be fine with kids/awake or sleeping. On our last trip the spanish families just turned up with the kids and push chairs, restaurants casino, disco anywhere at all times.
If staying in BCN, a couple of wine boxes makes sense especialy as you plan to be in the courtyard a lot. We had a mini sangria party with a 3trl jug one night, butler saw what we were doing brought a jug, glasses, fruit and ice even though he knew it was not ship stuff, all tip enhancing service.
Depending on how many people are using the courtyard it is possible to have guests if discreet and not all the time, fall back is to the rooms if people get uppity so if you meet people you can share some time if you need to stay near the room, my feeling however is these trips will get a lot of people using the space.
Thanks for the info on the OBC and booking I think if we can get to pay in $ I can save some more, but we will see, this will need some negotiation I think
Thanks for the info on the Jade. We are looking at our options and may even wait and do a Caribbean cruise in February if the price is right. Can get a deal for about £1000 at the moment, trouble is my wife doesn't like long flights !
Bob
Would certainly recommend the Caribbean in Feb, we did that last year but cannot do so now until 2010 at earliest.
Selected cruises with 3-4pax(child&adult) free(fuel charges apply).
2pax prices are high but the family/group options 3/4pax are good value.
Should be avaialble through anyone a Princess promotion.

£150 return to many desinations.
I tried LON->Boston in Oct got £153 with one change in amsterdam.
Tonight formal so the change to get all dressed up. I LOVE IT
Good wishes to anyone leaving for a holiday in the near future.
Sue
This is a bargain- $229 each! and the itinerary is nice, all good beach days with no hectic sightseeing.

Cost of airfare would probably cancel out the price benefit but you never know... I found a round trip airfare from Philadelphia to Barcelona this spring on Air France for $376- I kept waiting for someone to email me saying "there's been a mistake, that's not the REAL price" but they didn't.
OV 20n £799 Crete to Barbados 23th Oct.
This is with Gills and they say flight is premium subject to availabiliy,
Also on TXT they say 19n so someone is counting wrong, good pricing though
OV 30oct 12n TA £599
Also OV1/2 Dec 14n caribbeans are now under £1k expect then to drop another £100 at least.
WJ ..Have you seen the OV or other Craibbean cruise sub 1K for end of November (20th-26th)
The sailing immediately following at beginning of December is an 11 night itinery, and is a few pounds less.
Managed to get OV 25th down to £999
http://www.travelodge.co.uk/
If you can get into the site , been a bit busy with the £9 uk offerings.
The hotel is Good, but lousy location, 1/2 way to the cruise terminal from the airport so just 2 rides and there is a small mall nearby for meals great for that late flight but not so good if you want to do BCN a bit
Unless you are prepared to walk 10mins+ to the train or take 2 buses you need taxis.
TM, not looking that hard but no sign of Nov 14n caribbeans sub 1k yet unless a TA.
Just over at <£1050 both 18th and 25th so migh be able to get a deal.
It would have been posible with those cheap US flights a week back booke through Australia(we got Boston for £160).
LA, hawaii on Golden princess from £895 a lot of sea days.
14n +2n guess 1 hotel 1 flight
dates from now till march
It does say book by end August on a page dated sept 3rd
no other research http://www.traveldep.com
Hi i am looking for cruise end of sept early oct, med prefered, fly/cruise great, does anyone out there know of any good deals. looking for low cost break. just for 2 people.
Incidentally if you can't get a fly-cruise with them, I believe that Aegean have flights that day from London Gatwick ...............
If you can go either the 19th September or 1st October NCL have a couple of good offers on the 12 night cruises
19th is https://club.bestpricecruises.com/ssl/travel/cruise/passenger_select.rvlx?CruiseItineraryID=108048
J inside cruise only is $1,837.92 USD compared to the UK NCL site which is £1558
1st October is £1379 UK price and US price is $2,187.74 USD not so much of a saving on 1st October one + you need to add flights 19th is out of Istanbul back into Athen and the 1st October one is out of Athens back into Instanbul
This one might be hard to get a good cheap flight
1 week one on the Gem leaving Barcelona on the 5th October is https://club.bestpricecruises.com/ssl/travel/cruise/passenger_select.rvlx?CruiseItineraryID=106031
is £1471 with NCL UK but $1,866.94 USD with Best Price
This one will be easier to get a flight
The 12 night on the 19th is good value but I dont know how easy the flights will be to get ...maybe someone else can give you an idea on that
Also on Tuesday RCCL have the Legend of the Seas on the "sales event" out of Rome on the 5/10 for 13 nights on offer @ $799 each + tax ( I think its about $140 each) can only be booked on Tuesday the 9th September again you have to get your own flights and transfers
I think Hamrag said you can find this deal on Vacationstogo on Tuesday
Ryanair have a flight for this one from East Midlands for £67.56 for both + Luggage depending on how many you take or from Luton £105.44 for 2 again + Luggage ( per check in bag is +£24)
Great deal for 13 nights
Last minute Island cruises will have some deals cuurent 499 but will drop I think
keep an eye on cruise1st TXT pages on 227.
Thomsons spirit is around £500-£560
OV have some OK prices late sept/early oct.
Fredolsen have a couple of trips on the Balmoral
18sept £537 7night outside cabin (was £437 inside) if any left.
7oct 12n £667 GTy inside. (round britain)
NCL Gem 7n ex Barcelona £650 or DIY pacjage if you can get flights, this does seem to be attracting a lot of spanish but the kids problems should be over.
NCL Jade Flights may be an issue,
There are always Nile cruises to look at.

i will thank you in advance, please post if you spot any
thanks
Sticking with your requested date window of end Sep/early Oct. Both of the following cruises are on Royal Caribbean website, did a "dummy" booking for standard inside guarantee:
29th September - Navigator of Seas for 11 nights from Barcelona to Barcelona £665 + gratuities (pay on board)
5th October - Legend of Seas for 13 nights from Rome to Rome £622 + gratuities, or £601 + g if at least one passenger aged 55+
TravelMandy has said that at least one of these is going to be on special offer on Tuesday 9th, so you perhaps want to look at that, and include vacationstogo price for comparison (do note that $ exchange rates are much poorer than they were 3-6 months ago).
If you want to go up a notch in terms of quality (although Royal C are excellent) then one to consider is the Celebrity Century on 29th September for 11 nights from Barcelona to Barcelona. The Celebrity web-site price is not that great, but Vacations to go looks better, although it will cost more than the other two I mention.
Having cruised from both Barcelona and Rome, these ports are incredibly easy to get to by budget airline and cheap public transport, all at sensible prices. Always recommend getting there a day early, which means a hotel charge but gives you a further day exploring, and both Barcelona and Rome are well worth exploring.
You mentioned in an earlier post that you have cruised once before, which line and ship? That may help us direct you to an appropriate cruise. Personally I would not use Thomson/Island/OV when I can get the prices available for the better lines, although others I know would.....choices!
Greetings to all at HT including Luci Fantastic trip will do a review when I get back.
