I find Emirates excellent from the Uk to Dubai.But from Dubai to Mumbai they do seem to use their older planes and the service isn't as good.But that's just my opinion.

Hi when we booked our holiday for march with thomas cook the flight details said we would fly with monarch on the 14th but all the brochures since then refer to this flight as a tcx flight a thomas cook flight it seems to me that since mytravel combined with thomas cook they dont need monarch anymore THANK GOD and have enough planes,i think monarch maywell be the next airline to go bust.slan(cheers)

hi i have just rang goa flights who we are booked to go with and she has told me that the monarch friday flight from manchester is still going on the 12th dec but at an earlier time 1.30 instead of 3.15. and that when we return it will be one day later sunday instead of saturday,at no extra charge. so worrys over for now

Better check on ours, we are on the same flight on 21st November, did they give any reason why. Wonder if they are picking up at Gatwick. Am getting more and more stressed about this holiday. Roll on 22nd November when hopefully this will all be in the past and I will be sitting in the sun and wondering what on earth I was worrying about.

Jellytot, our flight time got changed from 3-15 to 1-30 and this is because we are now picking people up from Gatwick....

To answer Spike's question - the agent agreed to a full refund of my £350 deposit because I didn't agree to any of their alternatives.

Not got the cheque yet, though, so fingers crossed.

Just to respond to Big Neil's comment about reading the small print, we have flown with Monarch on a Friday for the last 7 years, booking independant flights with any company who comes up with the best deal, and never suffered any changes
The flights we have always taken have been charters, so on the plane I would guess are more 'package deals' rather than independant flight bookers like ourselves ?
The 'small print' applys to package deals as well as us. I think any mode of transport you book, wether it be train, plain, ship, or coach will have small print that has the potential to throw 'the spanner in the works'.
I just hope they come up with a sensible alternative flight for all those affected, and that no one else is going to suffer the torment we are now going through.
Although very very annoyed with Monarch over this situation, I have noticed many other flight companys chopping and changing flight times causing disruption to the hard working, high price paying customer.
Will it end with Monarch...? I very much doubt it, but best of luck to all those affected.

Spoke to Travel Republic, the agents, they are unaware of any flight changes, so spoke to Monarch who confirm our flight does now go at 13.30 on 21st November

Get in touch with them asap, this should get you some answers and give you time to make other plans if you don't get a decent alternative.

thank you all for the info on last nights forum flight no mon 6382 .rang hol company this morning they said they have heard nothing . so rang monarch and they confirmed all friday flights from january 09 cancelled theyoffered me next day from gatwick or from m/c with no premium . itold them i was not happy with the arrangments so they gave me 28 feb 1week later from m/c no extra charge for 3 weeks with upgrade still looking forward to cavelossum again good luck guys and gals barry

I have just had a phone call from First Choice my flight to Goa in November is now a double drop and there are no extra leg room seats avaliable, bearing in mind that I booked my extra leg room seats over a year ago and are now paid in full! Apparently as Manchester are first on the plane the extra leg seats have been given to them. I fly long haul with FC 3 times a year, not anymore.

thats dreadful the way FC have treated you Redstingers We are flying with them in january from Gatwick so i wonder if all their flights are doing the pickup at manchester or just a few - and if its all flights when will they let us know

I think it means that the flight starts of at Manchester and picks up passengers en route at Gatwick.
Very unfair as you have already booked extra legroom. Flights are certainly in a pickle this year aren't they

I can remember the days when you had problems booking premier seats because the Goa flight stopped off at Bahrain and took on passengers from there who had already booked the premier seats.
