Looking on their website, as I understand it, holidays booked for next summer, deposits are as following;
short haul £50pp , long haul £100pp. They will have the same terms and conditions as Thomsons have since the take over.
& yeah drwebb, when you go on first choice's website you cant access your booking that you booked online for holidays after may 2009 so im guessing that myholiday.travel.co.uk is also being stopped. I dont get why though as surely this is one of the most easiest ways their customers pay. (I know it is for me anyway!!)
I shall be popping into my First Choice shop tomorrow so shall ask them why we cant access the myholiday.travel.co.uk and see what they have to say.
Will let you know the outcome.
Went into my local First Choice shop this afternoon and spoke to the very helpful Manageress, she said that now since the merger of First Choice and Thomson they have a new system, so unfortunately the above cannot be logged onto, the new system does not have this facility and she has'nt any info if this will apply in the near future.
She said she did'nt realise that anyone would use it, and was quite surprised that I asked about it. But they would take payment over the phone any time I wished to contact them, also if any times of flights were altered or other info they recieved about my holiday they would contact me straight away by telephone then send a back up letter.
Customer Service was brilliant.
Thanks very much Angie Hopefully in the near future they will re-introduce it as in the past it has helped me alot!
No probs glad to help.
we have booked our last 6 holidays with them, just a little local shop...
i phoned and asked about adding an extra person, they said they would contact head office as the holiday wasnt showing on the system....
2 days later, they called me, still no news from head office.....this went on for almost 2 weeks, head office saying they had a backlog of work.......but, i still got regular updates from the travel ladies...
eventually it was all sorted, but i just want to say there customer service was excellent, in keeping me informed......so i took them a nice box of chocolates
and if i had of booked on the internet, the phone calls to sort it our would have been enormous...
It mentions that if you have booked your holiday close to the date of departure, your tickets will not be sent to you. This is ok, however, their site mentions that there is a fee for collecting the tickets from the airport, but it is rather vague and does not mention cost. It says it depends on the time of year etc., does anyone have any idea how much ticket collection would cost?

Dont know whether this answer is too late, but usually the charge is around £15pp

As gr123 has already mentioned it is usually about £15 each, but this is already added in to the total cost of the holiday so you don't actually have to pay anything at the airport as it is already paid.
So this evening will be very stressful at trying to find another holiday/hotel that will match our expectations as we were going to the ICD in the Dom Rep as repeat guests of 6 years.
We have been offered other dates but my son has already booked his holiday dates at work, so will have to find out if these can be changed or not.We had booked premier seating but on other dates premier seating is not now available at this late date and hubby wont fly without them.
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp I'm stressed.
Angie.
Caribbean Warehouse to see if they have any solutions.
They are not tied to any carrier and may have access to other planes so may be able to put something together for you. Failing that they may be able to point you towards a similar style or better hotel/resort alternative somewhere else in the DR or Caribbean at the same time.
As you have the option of a full refund, before you cancel or change, you could try ringing the They are not tied to any carrier and may have access to other planes so may be able to put something together for you. hi ya i have just had to pay my balance for hol to egypt 13 weeks before we go, when should expect to receive my tickets, they said they would let me know when they arrive at travel agents, also it seems that we are on a TUI flight, in know they have mereged but is that normal now? does anyone know the earlist your tickets can arrive?
The earliest your tickets will arrive is approx 2 weeks before departure.
It is indeed common to be on a TUI flight now instead of an FCA flight, we are off to Egypt and have been moved on to a TUI (Thomsonfly) flight.
First Choice is now just a high street brand follwing their merger with Thomson. First Choice Airways ceased to exist from 1st November 2008. All flights are now operated under Thomsonfly and from 1st May 2009, Thomson Airways. Even though some aircraft may still wear the FCA livery, all flights are operated under Thomsonfly's air operators certificate.

does anyone know if the manchester aruba flights have been cancelled for this summer? my parents are booked onto it and its no longer showing that route online, only gatwick.
Manchester - Aruba (TOM156/7) are operated on Thursday departing at 0915 between 07/05/2009-22/10/2009 according to the information I have. Try Thomsonfly's website.

Spoke to first choice today, apparently they have cancelled flights to Aruba from 22nd August till end of October. Parents were due to fly out on 24th September, they have been transfered to Gatwick
They haven't taken it off the aircraft schedule yet then, it's still on there as of 2 minutes ago! They're reducing capacity on lots of flights with reducing aircraft numbers so I guess this is one of the victims.

First choice is my nearest shop but thomson's price for the holiday is cheaper!
Thanks for any help
