Hi!

Just to update you, I phoned through to first choice & my booking has gone through ok. :) They are showing the deposit as paid so i guess its just taking a while to show on the bank statement!

Glad that its one less thing to worry about!

Hope you get the info on your final invoice soon laura, & enjoy your hols :sun2. I know I had to phone up and ask thomson to send our final invoice out this year as we hadnt received it after a couple of weeks despite having been promised it when paying by phone, so don't know if FC are slow as well now they are merging!

i will get round to phoning fc once i get 5 mins to myself.

just got to wait another 6 weeks now :(

Glad everything worked out ok in the end! We paid our final balance for our holiday in september this week, wondering whether we will get an confirmation aswell!!

Cant wait to get tickets :D

I paid off my final balance in july for our hol in september and within 2 weeks I had a final balance confirmation letter by post, 2 weeks to wait for tickets now can't wait!!

I have had an reply from FC and they have said they dont always send a confirmation but she has arranged for one to be sent to me.

If you would like one then im guessing you could just email or phone up. Have a good holiday :)

cheers for replying, i did call them last week, and she told me we dont get sent a confirmation, she checked for me that the payment was fine, so i guess we just wait for tickets

I've had problems with my next years booking too. I saw on my online banking that my depost had been taken twice from my credit card - one in June then again in July. I soon picked up the phone but couldn't get through at all. So, I wrote a letter of complaint and also to complain that I still haven't received written confirmation or an invoice from them. I wrote to First Choice Holidays, Diamond House, Peel Cross Road, Salford M5 4DT. I soon got an email from them full of apologies. They refunded my money and offered free inflight meals on the plane. As for the confirmation - they have promised to do this by the end of August. Not happy.

I got my invoice, quite pleased it only took a week just waiting for tickets now!!

We have been looking at next years holiday already lol do you think FC will be doing the online payments system again when you can pay bit by bit as thats the only way we can afford a holiday!! Hope they do introduce it for after May 2009 holidays.

We too have had the same problem in that they have taken the deposit twice and we have also been informed that as compensation for their error, we can have free meals on the plane, however, we have booked a premier holiday which means that our meals on the plane are already included in the price of the holiday.
We booked the holiday in May and we are yet to receive any form of written confirmtion. All we've got are the details that I printed off when I booked.
We have also been told that we will recieve an 'updated' invoice by the end of August so it will be interesting to see what it says though I don't know which invoice they are updating as we've never received one!! :scratch:

Morning.......what is up with the FC website.......it takes forever to load different pages and then whatever i try to look at/book it then tells me they are having technical problems and to phone......i dont want o phone as i just want to browse the different prices before i decide :rage why aren't they doing premier seats anymore :cry

Premium seating is available on all long haul destinations. Maybe that's one of the technical bugs they are having at the moment? The Airbus A321-200's are leaving the fleet in the winter so there are no premium seats on selected short haul destinations now, apart from the odd flight over the summer where the long haul aircraft are used.

I have a holiday booked with 1st Choice to Larespark in Turkey for next Easter (departing 31st March). As the holiday has disappeared from their website, I thought I'd ring and query to see if there was a problem. The salesperson has informed me that all flights leaving for Antalya have been cancelled as the holidays weren't selling well - and I will need to change my holiday. Apparently a letter is on its way to me, but they couldn't say when I would receive it. Does anyone know if this is true?

sorry to hear about the situation, that sucks! :(

The sales rep did not sound to helpfull, did they not tell you to contact customer services or something.

sorry i can not give any information or help on the situation, im a little worried myself now as we have a holiday to antalya booked for 3 weeks time, do you think that still stands :que

I think it is flights from their winter brochure. I am still trying to find out more. My local TA has advised I contact ABTA to see where I stand. I'll keep you posted.

just done a dummy booking from the fc website and it allowed me to book at a hotel in lara up till april 09, however when i tried your hotel it said it was unavaliable. not sure if sales person was correct, i hope the letter holds more details, you may only need to change your hotel and stay in same location.

Laura - thanks for your help. My gut feeling is they are not doing Larespark anymore, but they did tell me the flights have been cancelled.
If this is true, they are making a major change and I (think) am probably entitled to a full refund, but I need to check this with ABTA.

My online booking confirmation says the flight I am booked on is TOM1515, whereas my original confirmation said FCA514.
The 5 remaining hotels on their website are much more expensive than what I have paid, but they advised they are in the process of removing them from the website.

yeah id agree with you, i think they have stopped that hotel, from what i have read then yeah you should be able to get a full refund, but definatly check with abta.

when i did the dummy booking they was a note stateing because they have merged the flight codes have changed from fca to tom, and just now it showed me an error on the site so maybe they are taking them off.

i hate things like this we had a real bad experience back in 2004.
