That is because they generally buy 9 rooms every where!
Most of the hols dont start selling until weeks or days to departure , because most people are wise to how to get a bargain now.
Not very impressed with the new site, it looks nice with larger photos, but the pages are taking forever to load, unless i've just been unlucky, but all the other sites I am using tonight are fine. 
Also before if you clicked 11 nights or more it often brough up eleven night options and prices, only seems to be bringing up 14 nights at the moment, unless someone can tell me what I am doing wrong. 
I am choosing destinations that I know offer 11 night holidays, from what is printed in the brochure.

What I meant was.- Before I booked, FC site said hotel had 9 double rooms available. I booked 4 of them in early Dec. Every time I looked on site, the hotel still had 9 rooms available!
Some else I know, booked in Feb, 2 double rooms at same hotel (to go on same flight/date etc) -Still 9 rooms available!
By rights there should only have been 3 available!!
I have found this happens everytime I have booked on FC site.

Me too, I'm having the same problem FC site taking forever to load, thought it was me, glad to hear its not only me.

when i questioned this at the first choice shop i was told, the computer only shows 9 rooms, that is the max it can show, so if 20 rooms are available it will still say 9....
if only 8 rooms are available then it will show 8, but 9 rooms means 9 or above.......

I thought it was something like that, coz when i book it goes down instantly but i know they only buy 9 at my hotel.
Anyway as I said before the room numbers have gone ,but on next years summer hols only ie apr-oct 2009.They are still there for this years.

As previously mentioned to see room numbers you would need to click on the "more room options" link.
Anybody looked 09 first choice is mega expensive, over £1000 for a 3* hotel majorca school hols even the terrible bellvue over £700 pp when it can be pick up teletext for half the price.
Here is a example direct holidays sherwood breezes resort £4397 First choice £8671 lara beach turkey 4 august based on 5 adults. How can first choice justfiy a difference of £4274 which with direct holidays would almost pay for another 5 people.
I can see first choice having plenty of unsold holiday.

Ive figured it out now be free today it depends on whether they have more than one type of room, so my hotel which they only buy 9 rooms from ,are all studios which sleep 3 so it doesnt tell me how many are left.
However on another hotel it had many different rooms ie rooms that sleep 2, 3 and 4 ,so it let me view the room numbers?

Its still really getting on my nerves. Why cant they leave things alone when they work Ok. The pages are so slow to load sometimes they timeout.
looked for next year on first choice and finding it very hard to get free child places.

Can I ask that you do not use phone style text, eg r instead of are, u instead of you, etc?

hi we are looking for june next year 3 adaults maybe 4 and two children hopefully portugal/cannary islands all inclusive.
Does anyone else find first choice holidays much more expensive than thomson (who they have merged with)? The same holiday, we booked for 09 with thomson , is coming out over £200 more expensive with first choice!

I hadn't thought to check this, but I've just found out that our 2009 FC holiday is £41 cheaper on Thomson's site. Not your £200, I admit, but it's still the same company selling identical holidays at different prices. A phone call to FC is in order.

is this possibley because the 2 companys will be using different planes ?? or is it the same plane?
