Just came off Calangute beach the police are enforcing the 20 sunbed rule Boscos and big banana got caught out and have been closed down for 10 and 7 days. The lads are devastated as they are not earning this season. The whole place is very quiet, cant help but to think this could be the beginning of the end.

no beach sellers Adelle but really everything is still great and apart from the newspapers and lots of police about all appears well on the whole

in the paper today it says all the New Years eve beach parties WILL be going ahead and its only rumour that they are going to be stopped

Although I do enjoy having a chat to the sellers I dont think ill miss being disturbed. Ahh i can read my book in peace 
well i didnt miss that, i do have to admit it did get too much,but we met a lovely boy called monty who delighted us with his stories of his family,and goa with out tourist,
chilly can i ask if you managed to get on to calangute beach, just wondered if goan wave was up and running...

if anyone has been on calangute beach,or is going would it be tooo much trouble for me to ask for you to look out for a shack called goan waves,
its about the 10th shack along walking towards baga beach,

HI Adele i walked down there this afternoon to have a look, i turned right onto the beach (down the steps) but couldnt see the shack... I didnt go miles along but i walked past quite a few and then a couple that were either under construction...or coming down.. not sure which, then there didnt seem to be an excessive number of shacks after that although i cant see that well into the distance !!?? and i have to say in all my years in Goa i have never been harrassed so much by the shack boys trying to get us in!!! I was overwhelmed by the intensity and desperation between them... especially as we are known by many along this beach.. oh and also yes as celcat says quite a military presence around with armed police patrolling etc mostly indians there too (in the shacks but some europeans

Goan waves is there, it's about 8-10 shacks down and set right back with a wooden sign outside it.
Totally agree Chilly, and they are also holding their prices which in some cases is fair enough but they wanted the same price as the shops for my beloved Radley bags..... and I ended up getting it a lot cheaper in the shop. I tried explaining this to my 'bag man' but he's so desperate at the moment.

I have already had my Xmas as OH went offshore today and we had the whole family round on Sunday. But I'm off to my mums on Xmas Day. Please note that as usual the forums will be read only on Xmas Day and Boxing Day but the Goa chat room should still be open if anyone wants to gossip.
