Just wanted to say a quick Hi. Had a fabulous 4 weeks in Goa over Christmas and New year. Really enjoyed the place again and it restored my faith in all the things I thought Goa had lost. No trip report yet because most of it is now just a blur as the day after I got back I was rushed to intensive care with blood poisoning and my family told to expect the worst. Anyway I beat it, I'm back home, feeling a bit strange but planning to go again at Easter (docs won't let me go before then). Life's just too short ! I have been assured Goa was not the cause and it could have happened anywhere.....just happy it wasn't 24 hours earlier or I might not have been so lucky !

Sim1, that must have been a nightmare, glad you are better now.
I had blood poisoning a few years ago. My mums cat bit me, which led to my arm being infected. I wont go into much detail but green stuff kept weeping out of the bite
Had blood poisoning, hospitalised for a week, and my mum didnt take the cat to the vet to be put to sleep.
Nevermind, it ran off a month later.
Only 3 and a half days until we set off for Goa, but having a few little problems , my partners parents should be dogsitting our dog whilst we're in Goa, but our dog doesnt like cats, and they have a cat. I hope they dont say they cant dogsit him, id be mad if they did

Thanks everyone for this. I'm much better now. Hoping to be able to go out to Goa at Easter. I was supposed to go in 3 weeks time but doctor said a definite no as I'd be too prone to infection. Never mind hopefully back at Easter.

I would just like to say thankyou to all of you that sent me messages before i went into hospital on friday for my operation, i came home yesterday, everyone who prayed for me it worked as i am on the mend and i thankyou very much. I did apreicate all your kind words, I am looking forward to another year of lively dicussoins on here.

I wasn't here for a while so had missed that you were going into hospital. Glad to hear you are fine now
