Anapurna is 2 mins from Candolim Health Centre.
Max - you have thrown up a couple of new names for me, where in Candolim are, Bomras and Casa Manolita ? - cheers
Goonerfan - shame about Flambe, always had a good time in there, still going to give it a go this year though.

I know what you mean spike, have always had a good meal there in the past but this time was my worst ever meal in all the times I've been to Goa. By the way Bomras is right next door to Butter, inbetween Stonehouse and Flambee. It is excellent Burmese Fusion food, Would pay a fortune for it in London

Hey Toe,

Did you forget i only had five pieces too, that was a bad night and i did mention that to Ram, it seems they are having good nights and bad nights.

Hope your flight home was OK.

The chef in Bomras was trained in London. :tup

Casa Manolita is in a Portuguese style house up the lane next to Dona Alcina.
Bang up next door to the Highland Beach and the food is European - crab bisque, chicken liver paté, goulash, lamb chops with mash, etc. :cheers

Agree about Roma Gooner. First time we went last Easter there was a crowd from hell in there, all British I am sad to say, throwing the waiters in the pool, etc. so we gave it another try at Xmas. The service was terrible, thought we were never going to get our food. Won't be going again.

Thanks for the replies - what can I expect in Burmese food, Tai / Chinese style (ish) ?

From the health centre look in the direction of walking to the top of the main beach road, and the Anapurna is on the left hand side just past the Mango Grove.

Annapurna was the first restaurant I ever went to in Goa, back in 1993, always been a good place for a meal and watching the world go by :)

We ate there a couple of times and the food was good, the only downside was the sage & anion stuffing with the Christmas day lunch-- it was runny like gravy :yikes but in general the food was good.

Yes he does do pies Shepherds Pies :que We did tell him at the time, and also that we had heard bad comments on the beach.
Have been twice since, and the meals have been superb, but have noticed there seem to be two more staff in the kitchen.

Those complaining have been back and they also had excellent meal last week. So hopefully he has sorted the blip out.

Any more recent updates on Posh in Nerul or the Bhatti bar? also any favourites the Sinquerim end of Candolim.

Flambe is good but seems Goonerfan had problems this year, still going back though, (stuffed mushrooms with cheese for starters and the spicy meatballs for mains - awesome!!).Tried another last year that is opposite side of road to Flambe called The Curry House, decent mixed menu, nothing that you can't get anywhere else I suppose, but tasty well cooked food and massive portions.
If you do venture this way, have a look round after dark, some impressive looking places all lit up, but the downside being, March and April it's a lot quieter than the popular 'Beach Road' so it does put me off when a place is empty all night, unless it has been reccommended.
I think with the new ones we may try and the regular places we think have been very consistent with food/service etc.. We will not have enough days to visit them all.

You have posted in the 'restaurant' thread - but a quick answer is Ganesh shack, down the Whispering Palms beach road (no doubt you will get loads of reccomendations !!)
