I stayed at the Rennaisance Jamaica Grande in Ocho Rios as it was known back then (now Sunset) when we got stranded in 2003! Ocho Rios is a nice enough place, I'd certainly pick their over Montego Bay. It's a nice place. Jamaican Dollars is the local curency but US Dollars is the best to take as it's widely accepted. You are close to Dunns River falls which is a pleasant walk up if you don't mind getting wet! I didn't get chance to do anything else with only being therefor the weekend!There's plenty of information if you run a quick seaarcg for Ocho Rios.

me and my husband and sons stayed at riu ocho rios may 08 and it was brilliant, this hotel was fantastic, the staff were great
we did dunns river, dophin cove and hevens scent and enjoyed them all
we went shopping into ocho rios but did not think much to it but we would go back here as we enjoyed it so much
happy holidays
