I'm curious as to whether will we be on an old Firstchoice longhaul plane or a Thomson one ( I have a large bottom so the 2-3-2 in economy on the old FCA planes is appealing ! ) ?
Or is it too early to know these things ?
Thanks
It will be an ex First Choice 767-300

As darren has said on another page in this thread, it will probably be the current Thomson livery with "Thomson Airways" titles.

My wife and I are flying from L/GTW on flight TOM 751 on Friday, 13th March (Good job I'm not superstitious!). Having read most of the contents of this excellent forum, I am aware that I can't prebook seats, and in any case have no seating plan.
We intend to arrive early to check in, but it would be a great help if we knew what aircraft it would be, and the seating arrangement, so, in conjunction with the previously noted very helpful seating posts, we may have some idea of what choices there are.
Thanx, in anticipation, Churnytorch
Your Flights Will Be Operated By A Boeing 767-300,
These Are Configured 2-4-2 In Economy (2-3-2 Premium)

Thanks both of you I will ring and ask for seat 1a as that has legroom but isn't an exit seat .
Does anyone know why like First Choice, Thomsonfly didn't take a seat out of the 767-300 because I flew FCA last year and the year previous to that I flew Thomsonfly both on 767-300's; I thought the FCA cabin was a lot nicer and I don't understand why TOM didn't do the same?
Gower,
Hi. I am in two minds whether to upgrade my flight to premium - we;re flying tom577 from Birmingham to Cancun. I understand that sometimes cheaper upgrades are available. I would like to know two things - 1 - how low is the price likely to go and how long before the flight should I wait for the best price and 2 - is it worth it?
your flight experience. If you want to get to A-B in one piece with no fuss or hassle then economy will be fine for you. The Thomson Airways inflight experience is going to be upgraded for this summer with China cups and upgraded cutlery for everyone, something we didn't have in economy in either airline(First Choice/Thomsonfly) before, You will also get a choice in economy of meals, something you wouldn't of had on this route unless you flew in premium before.
But if you need extra baggage allowance, stress free check in and a calmer experience onboard then yes, go for it.
on the other hand if the upgrade fee is £300 each £600+ could be better spent on excursions, nicer restraunts or room upgrades. But saying that, if you get a price you are happy to pay, then take it and don't recheck it.
Price fluctuations vary and can happen one week but not the next and Cancun attracts a lot of honeymooners. It is consistantly a top seller for Thomson and First Choice holidays.
They generally discount when there is excess availability and basically, what i'm saying is there is generally very little on this route.
I'm being a bit devils advocate in this reply, hopefully its helped you make a choice. Even with economy being as good as it is, I would still go for premium.
It is a very subjective issue, I personally would not go in economy with any airline but it depends what you are after in But if you need extra baggage allowance, stress free check in and a calmer experience onboard then yes, go for it.

Hi We fly before the end of the winter season, so would be unaffected by the changes that come into force. I'm all up for it but hubby unconvinced, especially as we have two kids to pay for! I have been offered 149 per seat. Is it likely to fall any further?
Ask yourself, will you drink especially if you have children £149 worth of drinks? You don't get dedicated check in at BHX at the moment so for £149 you will get a choice of meal, extra baggage, a nicer amenity kit and inclusive drinks?
Is it worth it to you? its worth bearing in mind, extra leg room alone is £80.00...
I really appreciate your opinion and insight. I think I'll leave it until the weekend then if they're still there book them. Like you say, for me the only reservation is the kids will not make full use of the drinks.
Once again thank you
Tracy
you won't wait anywhere near that long for check in at Birmingham Airport. The worst report I have ever seen has been 40 minutes, and that was with about 6 more flights checking in at the same time as what you have.
That's good to know. I never want to have to wait like we did then!
