Just looked on monarch and they have the hemera for 2 adults £2816 23 aug 14nts that would make the cost of my holiday on the 4th for 5 adults over £8000.

Anybody fancy 2 adults for £2816 it cost more than the barut lara resort £2600. Hotel lara beach £4000 for 2 adults.

Hi All,

We are off to the hemera on 2nd june for 2 weeks. Does anyone know if they provide pool & / or beach towels as I usually take lots and the reduction in the weight in the luggage would be very welcome!

Also, its our first time to Turkey. I know about the £10 cash tax on arrival for each person but is there anything else we need to be aware of. What's the best currency to take Lira or Euros?

Thanks in advance xx

Hi
We were at the Hemera last August and pool/beach towels were available. We could change them everyday at a hut by the pool.

Hi all, can anyone tell me how bad the sunbed race is at the Hemera. Don't mind being a bit away from the pool and we are usually up and about for 8-8.30ish. Will this be too late for getting beds or are there more to be had in grounds?

We were at the Hemera during the height of the season so expected sunbeds to go pretty early but didn't expect towels being placed on beds at 1 o'clock in the morning!
First couple of days we used the beach and there was no problem getting three beds together about 8.30 a.m. but did notice that there were no free beds around the pool nor on the grass area by the pool.
As we are early risers on holiday we managed to get beds around the pool if we went down about 6.00 a.m. but even then most of the beds had towels on them and the pool man was around placing towels on the sunbeds - can only imagine he was being paid for this service!
On one particular day we'd reserved our sunbeds and went for breakfast, only gone about half hour, and when we got back our towels had been removed from the sunbeds and placed on a table nearby. The sunbeds are packed so close to each other we couldn't remember which particular beds we'd had so couldn't exactly reclaim them. I suppose we were lucky though because some days there were towels thrown into the pool, can only guess by those who were late coming down for their sunbeds!
Must admit this was one part of the holiday we didn't enjoy, but if you wanted a bed by the pool or on the grassy area you had to be up early. It wasn't just the Briitish and Germans doing this - all nationalities were.

Thanks for your reply. It sounds like a complete "free for all" then. Would it be feasible for our daughter to reserve beds when she rolled back in the early hours or get up early and go back to bed til 8ish? :que Looks like I will need the travel alarm after all!

Yes looks like another year of getting up at 6am . :rofl :rofl

I dont think I would trust my lads to do the job properly when they roll in at 4am . The control freak in me will ensure I get up to do it myself .

Last year at the Aegean dream resort I was getting up at 6am and it was still dark. I didnt mind as i'm an early riser and got used to staying there and chatting with other early risers ,even going for a coffee with them. What date is it you are there again mini :rofl

Hi,

Were off to Hemera in August, can anyone recommend a particular room number to ask for?
Also, what system do they have in place for booking the a la carte restaurants, and finally, we have a 5 year old, will the kids club be suitable for her? do they have a sign in/ sign out system so they can't wander off?

Thanks for all help!!

Emma

One night I am going to collect up all the towels and chuck them in the pool, then there won't be any sunbeds reserved.

And I will enjoy it :tup

Hi Emmasholiday
Our room number was 2303, not in the main building but just outside the main entrance to the hotel, it was fine, no view of sea or pool, just overlooking another accommodation block, very quiet though and no noise from the main road.
Don't know about the kids club but it seemed to run throughout the day and into the early evening, all the children seemed to be having a great time though.
We booked the a la carte restaurants at the guest relations desk situated in the hotel lobby. Would mention that the International Restaurant was very popular and we had to wait over a week to get a table for three. The fish restaurant and Turkish restaurant were easier to get into. You can also book to have breakfast at the Turkish restaurant once a week which made a nice change from the buffet breakfast.
I'm happy to reply to any other questions you might have. :D

I feel bad now about recommending the hotel to my daughters friends. They dont like the sun bed fiasco and may be disappointed if they have to get up at dawn for a bed. :que
We are looking after their dog while they are on holiday in August so hopefully they will be kind to us when they get back. :rofl

Thanks Mpb,

One other question, is the evening entertainment in a ampitheatre, or is it a table and chair set up?

TBH Jean I dont think I've ever stayed at a hotel in July/August where you dont need to be up early if you want a sunbed around the pool .If your friends are used to going at that time I'm sure they will be expecting it . Dont worry . Theres always the beach too isnt there and are there any other areas with sunbeds other the the main pool area :)

Hi Lyn,I will let them know when we go to house/dog sit that they may have to take an alarm with them. :rofl
Its their first time to Turkey and they usually go to France with Keycamp so its certainly going to be busy in comparison.
I am lucky we can go early and late season when its quieter and cheaper. :rofl
I am off on Thursday for 2 weeks. :sun2

The evening entertainment is held on the stage by the beach bar, just tables and chairs. We only watched one show but managed to find a table o.k.

Somebody said in a review the entertainment is indoors now.

I have to go in school hols and used to no sunbeds, we don't get down to the pool until 1pm anyway at the earliest. We don't like sunbathing and 2 hour on the beach or around the pool is enough for us start getting board stiff. How people spend all day around the pool or on the beach beats me, I would go stir crazy.
