I believe you can now select your seats, even if you've booked through First Choice. If you call Thomson, and give them the last 6 digits of your first choice reference number, they can now find your booking.

We were unable to book seats because we have a re-fuelling stop in Manchester (apparantly the system blocks all pre-booking if this is the case), but if we were flying non-stop we could have pre-booked. Hope this helps.

Just to clarify as this question is being asked frequently; seat numbers can now be booked for Thomson Airways flights by calling Thomson Airways (alternative cheap rate phone numbers are on saynoto0870.com) 6 weeks prior to your departure date.

just booked ours yesterday, we are travelling from manchester to puerto plata on the 2nd of JUNE which is not til 6 weeks this coming tuesday. the guy i spoke to was really good and said they are able to search all flights and some are coming up earlier than the 6 weeks prior deadline, it's just pot luck. we booked the first row of window seats in premium on the left hand side so there is no one in front of us reclining as soon as the wheels have gone up ;) i should have asked really on the phone if it is a first choice or thomson aircraft-darren i don't suppose you could tell me? it's TOM 122 from MAN to POP 2/6/09 at 9.15AM :tup

emmacat,

I wouldn't think they'de be able to tell you the aircraft specifically, but the give away is the number of premium seats (ie 5 or 9 rows) and configuration in economy (2-4-2 rather than 2-3-2). TOM122/3 is operated by an ex-Thomsonfly Boeing 767-304/ER (5 rows premium).

If I may say not the best seats as you have bulkhead in front and job to stretch you legs out.

By the way did they charge you for this service.

It should be complimentory for premium passengers. £10 for non-premium (£5 per sector).

Hi there just wondering if you could help. Thinking of trying to prebook seats, we are travelling BHX-PUJ in premium, on May 16 was wondering wether you could tell me if the last row of seats in premium recline fully as I would love to try and book these if they do, as I will be taking my son(10) on his first long haul flight and worry about him annoying others in the cabin by fiddling with his seat. (cant stand hubby moaning at him for all that time as kids are kids) Thanks in advance :cheers

dinner-lady,

Even though there is a bulkhead behind the seat, they do recline. If you click on my signature, you'll find a couple of photos of the premium cabin taken from row 9; the passengers have their seats fully reclined (in the centre section).

I am travelling on TOM060 to Samana from Gatwick on June 28th returning on TOM061 12th July. Does anyone know if this will be a Thomson plane or ex FCA. Also, if it is a Thomson plane, in premium do the tables come down from the seats in front or are they in the armrests like FCA planes?

Thanks for the info, guys. Gave Thomson a ring and booked the seats, no problem. :tup

We are flying to Orlando on TOM114 on Thursday May 21st. We have premium seats booked. I have managed to pre book our 5 premium seats today , despite the pre -recorded meassage on the Thomson phone number suggesting we were too early. In answer to Darren's suggestion that it should be free to premium passengers it has cost me £50 for our 5 seats. (£5 each way for 5 seats.)
A nice little earner! ( I agree with Darren that it should be complimentary for premium passengers.) Thanks for all the advice and help that people on this site give to people like me. A superb service.

Bastone,

LGW-AZS-LGW (TOM060/1) are operated by an ex-Thomsonfly Boeing 767-304/ER. Tray tables are on the seat infront apart from bulkhead / exit rows.

No, I prefer to save the money and use it to pay for my diving as I think Star Class is perfectly adequate. I had a tour of the aircraft though; strech the legs!!

Thanks for the advice 'chrissfhl' I am flying Bham to cancun on May 21st and have just reserved my seats in premium..I have been phoning each week but not going beyond the message saying you cant book yet. Once I ignored this the operator was more than happy to help. It has cost me £5 each way but at least I know where I am sitting and my family wont be spread across the plane. :cheers

...we paid, £5 each way each, but it is our honeymoon so money well spent.

we have sat in the same row but the opposite side before and found the room more than enough, we just like being at the front so there is no risk of any over reclining action from in front which we have experienced before on other flights! we were sat on the right last time and had to go through the galley to reach the premium toilet which i found uncomfortable when the crew were having a rest break etc, i felt guilty! we don't have a problem with being say on the loo side either as it is for premium passengers only and never gets overly busy (or stinky!!!)
as other peeps have said, ignore the recorded message at the begining of the telephone call, i was told some flights are loaded earlier, some are not, it's pot luck so give it a go if you know you will be happier getting it sorted :tup

As the Thomson guy on the phone doesn't know....do all the on-board toilets (ex Thom 767) have baby changing facilities - thinking of pre-booking seats, would go for A&B so don't have to cross the middle with the baby etc - but don't want to be too far away from the nappy changing mat!!!?

Hello newbie (previously lurker) here.

We are due to fly to cancun on 2nd may TOM078 from Gatwick. This is the first time on plane for my 2 children 4 and 8. I have just called to ask about reserving seats and was told its £27 per adult and £17 per child to select your seats. When i said i would leave it for now the lady got very pushy and said that we would probably get split up - my question is can they split an adult from a child ? she has me really worried now she assured me they can and sometimes do split children from an adult -is this true or is she trying to make me book seats ? (sorry i am very nervous).

thanks
