hi, just wondering what people do about takingtheir piccies on hol? do you take a camera and a cameracorder or 1 that does it all? we have a all in one that i got off ebay a couple of years ago for about £60 but the flsh dosnt come on when recording so therefore cant record in low light (but i think this is the case with most camracorders unless you pay alot of money like £300 +), also the flash takes a bit of time to come on, when it feels like it really! i think, so its really only good for the day!
so we have been using fiances phone which has a brill flash and records videos with the light on too! (but his phone is coming to the end of its life now i think! not long left in it, starting to play up) we then just put them on the pc at home, we did look for a better cameracorder that takes pics aswell as i dont like the thought of carrying 2 cameras about but like i said before they are really expensive and dont know if they would actually be good quality anyway and after talking to the man in currys it seemed that ones with an infrared light- for the night to be able to recored videos didnt seem to be able to take very good picks and vis versa.
so what does everyone eles do? any tips on a good camrea/cameracorder or all in one or is the best bet to take 2? (cant afford 1 this year but maybe for next! or christmas!)
I highly recommend this for both stills and video.
PANASONIC FZ-28
I've got the slightly earlier version and it is a great camera/video camera for the non-professional.
You can buy an 8GB memory card from AMAZON for under £10, that will hold a huge amount of pics/video, certainly enough storage space for the average holiday!
This camera has a fantastic 18x optical zoom so is great for taking scenic photos.
HERE is an example of how good the video camera is on this camera, not as good as an expensive, purpose-built video camera but very good nonetheless.
To give you an idea of the distance involved, I was standing right at the very back and way up high in the Royal Albert Hall. Also, this was filmed in poor light, obviously!
HERE is an example of a photo taken under exactly the same conditions.
So, you can imagine that for your average holiday shot this camera is fab!
